There is a set I call the table top
It is a adjustable flat surface with cut outs to hold two traps off the bottom and below the surface.
The idea is that the beaver bumps into the front of the platform and crawls over getting captured.
It can also be used at log crossovers

The trays I refer to in many posts work the same way, except have a wire bottom. Holds 2 footholds. 3"to 4" sides/wooden frame. Beaver swims up and bumps edge. Climbs over onto traps. Double up many times.

This was this morning's double..two 750s in a tray at plugged culvert pipe...

I watched your video of that stand WD. That seems to stabilize trap very good. An idea you should consider is to have removable legs that can be attached to the bottom for sloping bottoms or attached to the end for insertion into the bank at steep drop off bottoms. I'm gonna build some with this feature. Can use wing nuts to attach legs or some kind of rigid clip on.

So the wires stick into the bank, but wouldnt the beaver be approaching the trap over the jaw instead of between the jaws?
I always want the beaver to approach the trap Between the jaws.

That's why I'd make the stands with detachable legs, so a dog-on trap can be positioned with dog to left or right of approach.

I set 2 more of the BW stands this morning (with Bridger 5 coilsprings). I just turned the stand around so the dogs were pointing to the outside of beaver approach and offset some. Im some concerned that the trap could be kicked out of the stand b4 the beaver steps in the right spot. I have been able to push the stands completely down in the mud so that it is not as easy to slide out of the stand, especially the B5s. 750s and CDRs are held tighter. I haven't used the BW stands yet using the horizontal anchoring/stabilizing.

If the beaver approached the trap over the jaws, it would kick the beaver out of the trap. The beaver needs to come into the trap between the jaws and trap set a little off center.

Yes^^^

Easy fix on any support stand. Just attach/weld/bolt/clip stabilizing legs in a different position on the stand so trap can be turned correctly....not rocket science.

Don't blame 'ya. That's why I'd rather build my own to my specific needs. Jury is still out on the BW stands.

That's where the idea came from. I just make and use them somewhat differently than he does. I use them as a trap bedding platform...at muddy dam edges....almost exclusively. He staked/suspended his trays up off the bottom in deeper water using stakes cut on site. His system is DEADLY! But takes a lot of work per setup.

Looks easy enough, and I’ve got a few old 220 stands I’ve never used. I’ll pick up one of those BW ones if If they’re at 5he convention next week, just to try

For the work involved in the way David L. does it, I'd build the trays to hold at least 4 traps. Set that up in a main beaver run that you can wade out to (knee to waist deep). One drowner off each end of tray and one off each side. I'd use cable or chain drowners anchored on seperate stout wooden stakes near the tray....not the stakes holding the tray as 1st beaver may tear it all down. Bottom end of drowner would be brake rotar.

So...it's easy to see how much work this would be to set up like this. But potential is there to clean em out rapidly.
