In the soybean field. And even brags about how they trained it to go to the bathroom in the farmers field. It’s a pretty tense situation. So we are being so cautious that it’s maddening. And I know the neighbor has messed with the set. I tried a live trap at first but found it standing on end the next day. Then I went to a dog resistant cubby which the neighbor didn’t mess with but the chuck wanted no part of. I know a conibear over the hole is the best solution but the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) dog. So yesterday we built a big chicken wire cage to put over the hole with the conibear and anchored it all down hopefully this works lol.

If you have a hole I suggest a Comstock passthrough trap with a splitter. It will make quick work out of that "varmint".

Thanks Carl . Like I said the farmers neighbor is an issue. She flipped the live trap I set on its end . She’s and her dog are the problem . It’s been very hard to get this whistle pig because he’s so spooky because she and her dog keep coming onto the property

Set an unbaited live trap up with an electric fence setup attached to it. The target won’t be attracted to it, but the neighbor will. Put a trail cam up to record it. When she jumps back it’ll be real obvious she touched the trap. Your conservation officer might be interested.

Has the owner called the Sheriff and had her "Trespassed" off the property, after that you can have her arrested.

It’s a really sticky situation. I’m trying to do right by the farmer and protect not only him but myself. The thing is she and her dog have to cros over 200 yard of soybeans to get to the trap. I’ve consulted local fish and game and local sheriff department and I or the farmer needs to put up game cams to show irrefutable proof that she and her dog are trespassing. It’s just so frustrating. I only started going after this chuck a couple days ago. But in a week and a half it’s done almost 1k$ worth of damage to his crop.

Life is to short.

Tell the farmer the deal with the neighbor or do it yourself or walk away.

I'm pretty clear, cash up front and any interference I pack it up no refunds. So they deal with or get to keep the critter and I still get paid.

If she has to cross that far, you could legally hunt it. I believe hunting regulations in ny are 500 feet from any other building. Check with the ECO, and you may choose to not do this due to optics, but I'm pretty sure it would be legal.

What works sometimes, leave a big note in red that you set a trail cam & already contacted fish & game about trap tampering.

Lol. Well it turns out that after all the craziness and effort put forth Mother Nature decided to step in and not only help but mock me. Yesterday evening we pulled up to the field only to find a very large bobcat doing what we were unable to do lol. I’ve never been so relieved,angry and disappointed at the same time. Lol

Unfortunately the local authorities want video or picture proof that the neighbor and dog is trespassing. And the farmer is way to busy to deal with the BS and it’s not my circus and not my monkeys when it comes to the disagreements between the two. I don’t need someone making problems for me.

Agree but can you set up any cameras for photo proof? There are retired game wardens on this sight that may have ideas for you I’m sure they have dealt with it all.

Several years back a lab got nailed in one of my 220’s in a coon set the dogs owner had the warden at the location when I got there , the warden asked the landowner if I had permission that was a yes then he asked if the dog had permission he said no that they chase his cattle daily to sum it up he told the dog owner who had my trap to give it back or he would be ticketed for theft . He was mad but the warden said keep your pets at home .

I have used bodygrips in a groundhog hole and covered the hole with a piece of 1 x1 wire. If the groundhog is in the hole he will get caught trying to get out. If he is outside and wants to get in the hole, he will dig under the wire and get caught going in. Never had a dog or cat dig under the wire. I usually got them coming out because I had a Kemmer Cur that hated groundhogs. She would go down through a field and get in every hole. If it was occupied, she would bark. I knew which holes to set traps in.
