Just use a regular live trap but cover it with a blanket first or even put it inside a garbage bag. Once caught you can remove it just like the spray proof ones. Have had mixed results using spray proof.

I have been having more conversations with people that want some skunks removed. Does anyone have good luck with getting skunks to crawl into one of these. I have never used them, but never trapped skunks right in a residential area. I have used tubes with success in the past. I also use safeguards with covers and you can't beat a comstock 9x11x24 for a den siite or blind set. Comstocks can be purchased with a nosecone/cover.

Have had mixed results using spray proof. Can't see a Skunk or any animal going in a plastic bag trap. The slightest breeze will make the bag crinkle and crackle.

Works well for me unless I catch a raccoon, then it's all pulled inside. You can always use tar paper or something else to wrap around the trap if you don't want to use a plastic bag.

I use the 6-inch PVC traps almost exclusively for skunk jobs. I have several from Kirk Dekalb that are 2-door models (no longer made) that can't be beat for positive sets. And I have never had refusals from skunks when using these traps. Some guys (in other regions?) say they have no luck with them, but that's not true for me at all. At this job (horse barn) I caught the mother and all 4 kits the first night. Baited traps along the walls. Not posi sets. NOTE: The slide-down gravity door models are FAR superior than those with the horizontal doors (when set). ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/07/full-2515-183487-skunks_in_pvc_traps.jpg)

I have caught hundreds of skunks in rectangular spray proofs. I like them and as far as I know never had a problem with refusals, I always seem to have resolved the problem. I use dry cat food as bait. I do pick up mink, feral cats and coons once in a while.

With a little bit of elbow grease a few pieces of aluminum flat stock and 8 feet of 6 inch irrigation pipe managed to cone up with 4 of these homemade no sprays think total cost was $5.00 each
