If it gets muddy you will need the 4 wheeler to keep from rutting up pastures. You never seen mud like we get. Serious. Most county roads are graveled. The ones nobody lives on are just dirt. They are treacherous after it rains or the snow melts.

You allready have more ground than you can trap in two weeks. So I say go for 4 weeks. Will you be trapping out of a truck or with a atv?Make sure you have tirechains if out of a truck. This is good advise! It will take time to sort out the pasture trails on all that country, and if it’s spread out much, doubly hard. Just a couple years ago, there was still a lot of mange out in NW Ks. I haven’t heard much lately, but considering that very few trapped coyotes this season, it prolly hasn’t gotten any better. If you get into it in one area, you may get better results in another area. Like Danny said, go for cats as the coyotes won’t pay for the trip anymore! Good luck and let us know how it goes! | | |

I use a converted boat trailer for my 4 wheeler. Has a wood floor and a 4X4 toward the front to pull up against. 4 eyebolts to ratchet strap it on and a pair of ramps that ride under the 4 wheeler. When it gets muddy I stay on gravel roads with the pickup and pull the 4 wheeler. People dont get upset when you ride a 4 wheeler through their pasture after a rain. Your pick up leaves big ruts. If you want to give ALL of us a black eye leave gates open and rut up a few pastures.

You were clear. I dont doubt for a minute you respect others property. But that stuff happens. Just posting a general statement. I suspect several will try writing letters the way you did. One deadbeat could screw it up for all of us.

Landowners in Kansas are a great bunch. Most of them recognize the impotence of keeping fur species populations under control and will go out of their way to accommodate a man who can pile up the coyotes.
Be careful you might make some friends up there if you do things right.
