Looking at possibly looking at buying a 2008 Yamaha Kodiak 450.

Is there anyone using this ATV? What do you guys think i.e. any electrical/ mechanical issues with this ATV?

This ATV has over 3,000 km (1,864 Miles) and was well maintained. I am not seeing any visible issues with it, and wear and tear appears to be associated with normal use.

I know Yamaha ATVs are reliable. I have researched it and all comments are positive.

Thanks

Im not sure about the 450, but I’ve got the same year Grizzly 350 4x4 and its been a great, quality bike for me.

Does it have the independent rear suspension or the fixed axle? How about diff lock?

I’ve got a 2023 Kodiak 450 issued by the government. I’ve put real close to 2000 miles on it since February. No problems at except for a blown fuse.

I believe it has rear independent suspension and it may have lock differential.

I have an old 1987 Kawasaki Bayou which has been great to haul deer out of the bush and to do some trapping. This ATV will soon be 40 years old and it won`t die but I have to look at something that has more traction in winter months and that can easily load up in my pick up truck.

I had an old 2002 500 Artic Cat for winter months but something about my kids hitting a tree with it .... now selling it for parts....an expensive family ride!

My 2022 Outlander has no blood on it and I kinda want to keep it this way for now, but only a matter of time...Lol.

I think I will buy it.

He is asking $5,000, CAD (3,791 USD) I think I can pick it up between $3,500 to $4,000 ($3,033 USD).

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

Yup, thats about what they are going for around here.
Anything under 4500 would be about right these days.

I bought it for $4,000. It came with front box and gun booth. It also came with windshield, heated grips handlebar and rear connection for a small winch. This machine has no rust on the frame or racks. It is super clean.

Owner is in early 80`s and used it for moose hunting 2 to 3 weeks a year and to cut firewood. I was not in any hurry to buy another ATV but I just could not pass this one. It would have been sold by end of week for sure.

I’m running a 2000 Kodiak 400 and a 2006 660 Rhino.
Hard to beat Yamaha quality- we work these both hard and other than Preventive Maintenance we’ve had zero issue with both. The Rhino has a fuel intake valve located under the passenger seat- I’ve sheared it off twice putting the seat back on but I modified the design since. You made a good choice.
