We’re less than a month away now, and time is flying by!
I just wanted to touch on a few points to answer some questions, and give a few updates

First, there is UNLIMITED tent/primitive camping right on the fairgrounds
Showers and bathrooms are within 50 yards of where most people camp, and it’s only $5/night, which is paid to the fairgrounds

Second, cost to attend Coyote Days is $10/person, and 17 and under is free. We use wristbands to wear to show that you’ve paid the $10 fee.

We DO encourage families to attend this event, and there is a really nice pool in Lusk if the kids need to cool off and swim a bit (Adults too).

The Saturday night banquet is $25/person, and the tickets will be available at the main sign in desk when doors open Friday morning, and if you get here on Thursday afternoon late while we’re setting up, someone WILL be at desk to fix you up with wristbands and tickets

The main building is open by 6 a.m. both Friday and Saturday mornings, with coffee pot on, and the girls will have home made biscuits & gravy available for breakfast

The Outpost Cafe is east of the Fairgrounds, and the open at 6 a.m. also.

There will be at least 4 people attending and setting up booths that manufacture fur products, so if anyone is interested in finding someone to build something out of their tanned fur, this would be a good place to meet, and put the name with the face so to speak

And again, there are a LOT of things to see in the general area

The Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron NE. Is a MUST SEE

Fort Robinson in Crawford, NE. Is too

There isn’t much for fishing in this area, and not many prairie dogs left, so it’s probably not a good idea to plan to find that right here.

I’ll post the demo times soon, I’m waiting on a few confirmations on times yet

Both days will have 10 demos daily!

 Coyote Days 2023
 August 18-19
 Lusk, WY

 Thanks, John

Hey Lee Steinmeyer,I love that fleshing knife you sold me last year at Coyote days. I had several fleshing knives but that is the new favorite.
Am looking forward to seeing you again and getting to visit.

Yes, going to be a LOT shared that weekend
Steven, yes, I had a great phone conversation with John Sullivan and we decided that with his traveling, Saturday would be best for his demo

But, BOTH days are going to be full of a mixture of coyote fur trapping/snaring, and coyote ADC knowledge, and also ‘cat trapping from A-Z and beyond. You know the drill!

Todd will be skinning and putting up a bobcat from start to finish, and his demos are always great

Colt will be gone hunting that weekend, so we won’t he won’t be there to give his fur market update, but I’ll have Michael give a quick talk about current markets during the banquet

Things are shaping up nicely, and I found out today that Todd is bringing some peaches Lee, and I ordered 2 cases myself

Lee, if you have any fleshing knives left, bring one for me, I can’t believe I haven’t bought one by now!

I can’t stress the value of the round table on Friday evening enough
I’ll get the ball rolling with a topic of my own: Bobcat Toilets… the responses from so many top ‘cat guys will be worth 100x the price of admission ($10) alone

 Have a great evening

 Thanks, John

That’s one of the many reasons we put Coyote Days on every year, John.
It’s a chance to see a lot of people that I’ve met over the years, and this event is one of the few they go to.

The coyote market is tough, but lots of people are getting better about asking for some compensation to remove problem coyotes and reduce their populations in general. And, there always seems to be a job opening/opportunity somewhere at any time, and Coyote Days is the place to learn so much about ADC type work

The bobcat aspect of the current fur market is an important factor in the industry today, and I know we’ll have all the cases covered on ‘cats, and then some!

As for preparations, yes, lots of little details, but we’ve got a great group of people that help us put it on, and things run pretty smooth overall

 Only 3 weeks away now!

We already have a Ruger 22-250, a Citadel AR-15 style 12 gauge, and a Denali #15 Bear Trap here for raffles, and a Henry .22 is ordered. Tickets will only be sold at Coyote Days, so they WILL be won by attendees!

Lots of other great door prizes, bucket raffle items, and art items and misc items fir auction too
The Saturday evening banquet will be lively!

 Have a great weekend everybody

 John

I agree John, here are a few pictures from my recent trip there.https://www.furtrade.org/ ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/mB3uv05l.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/70TClKWl.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/tS3uis1l.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/FCC7nlnl.jpg) One of the great thing about Coyote Days is it can be incorporated into a family vacation if coming from the east. Too many attractions to see on the way there and back to list. I'll name a few of the no brainers. Devils Tower, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, Spearfish Canyon Road, Wind Cave, Jewell Cave, the list is endless. Sitting in on the new presenters will be worth the trip alone. See you in a few weeks John.
