Paying at the pump is fast but some places have readers that steal your CC#.
I have been using debit cards to fill up multiple vehicles, at least $7,000-$8,000 a year in gas, for 25-plus years.
I had my card # hacked twice. Both times my bank made it right as soon as I called them. They gave me provisional credit right away then made it permanent after an investigation. So readers on gas pumps, while it is a real thing, is not a concern for me.
As a bonus I have gotten thousands back through various programs using my cards.
Edited to add: I'm don't know how the hackers got my numbers, It may have been a reader at a gas pump or some other way.

I got hacked twice in the last 2 years. First time at a local Walmart. They bought furniture with my card in Indiana state. The last time a few months ago at a truck stop that always has the best fuel prices around. I guess the hackers knew this truck stop got lots of folks coming there to save 30 cents a gallon at times. They had installed one of those gadgets that fit over the card slot.

another reason for the Kwik Trip card , it is only for their store , they are a high volume place , and have lots of cameras
so if someone gets your Kwik trip card info , they can't use it to buy Walmart gift cards online.
it is also much less likely that such a busy station will get targeted because those skimmers need to get installed and checked that typically requires time at night and pour surveillance cameras
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
I'm a fan of the Kwik Trip cards as well. Wife and I have used them for quite a while. She learned to work the system and get gas discounts dependent upon specials on purchases. Just last week we got a one-time $1.45/gallon discount on a 30 gallon purchase. Using their card means an instant $.03/gallon discount. If we order ahead and pick up an 8-piece chicken we get a .25 discount on 30 gallons of gas. Hard to beat.
GCP has the right answer IMO. According to what I found there's a Kwik Star in Peosta. Get a card from them and you can set it up so it's paid in full every month directly out of your checking account or set it up so it's the same as a debit card coming out your account automatically.
I also agree that you're not a good candidate for a CC permit. I'm afraid nothing good would come of that. You think everyone is out to get you so it's not a good combination. Best of luck Coonman.

To busy gossip others or in back room talk to pizza makers or whatever . That place annoying . To lazy put any water for windshield washer by pump an no paper towels . Yet tons business, usally always busy . Location an no other place within 5 miles, both neighbor tons, much newer better stations, card reader don't work well in store here, he say not slam ur card . Yet it don't work an insert an reinsert 6 times often get it to go . Bp station is get be dump
Well problem solved then. Don't go there anymore and go to Kwik Star instead. Sign up for their card and their app and you'll have offers for discounts too.
That sort of crappy service would happen to me only once at any given location. There are plenty of other places that sell gas. Why would you continue going there?

if the card linked to checking is an issue , they can do reloadable gift cards you can reload it at the register with cash so you can pay at the pump if rather than go in
Kwik trip / Kwik star was one of the last chains still letting you get gas and then pay inside but they had so many drive offs , in particular near Minneapolis where the drive offs ran back in to MN that they went to all pre-pay or pay at pump in January
