Sheep sucks but never has lamb.

Is it eatable?
Hungry for something different, and not sure what

Real lamb, a baby, is wonderful. I think anything up to a year old can be called lamb. The older they get the more I taste what lanolin smells like. Get a baby and cut the legs off at the knees. Cut the head off. Gut and skin it. Put it in a roasting pan with a lid. Salt and pepper, potato's onions carrots. Doesn't need a lot of spices. Put about an 1/8 inch of water in bottom of the pan. Set your oven at 200 and let it cook for 10-12 hours.

We use a lot of mutton ground and make chile, meat loaf, shepard's pie, taco mix etc. With spices etc. pouring off the fat and eating it hot to me it is not bad at all. We eat a couple cull ewes every year. We can sell lambs for 2.25 per lbs. live so we don't erat much lamb.

It all has to do with the handling. You cannot touch the hide and then touch the meat or it will taste like they smell.

Lamb chops are great. On a side note, dall sheep wild, mountain sheep, tastes more like venison of one type or another than mutton however I have on occasion tasted just a hint of the lamb flavor when eating it, which I liked. I've eaten far more wild sheep meat than domestic.

Yes , Lamb is a milder version of Mutton

how strong the flavor is has to do with age and type

hair sheep are not near as strong

Mutton is possibly best served on a pita with onions , tomato , feta and cucumber sauce

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

American lamb is really good, lamb from overseas can really be questionable and I won’t eat it.

Only once did I ever taste and eat lamb that I thought was very good. Every other lamb I’ve tasted (refused to eat) as well as a couple of caribou tasted like Bag Balm smells!

I like lamb, especially grilled with garlic salt on it and served with grilled tomatoes, onions and mushrooms. I've maybe had mutton half a dozen times and it was always spiced and in something, like Scotch broth or haggis, where you could not really taste it.

Goat is good. It's more mild than lamb. It's between lamb and venison in flavor.
