If you want to try something good try goat. Lamb is a little "gamie" to some people's taste, sheep/mutton nearly inedible imo. However, goat, even an adult is great eating.

I tried goat for the first time in the Philippines this spring and thought it was real good.

I like lamb chops. Can eat mutton barbecue. Went to Wisconsin and had to try several different cheeses. The sheep cheese was awful.

don't paint all sheep cheese with the same brush it can be very good stuff

how it is made and the type have a lot more to do with it than the original milk

after all Limburger is the same milk as cheddar , it is all in the making , brining and aging.

I eat lamb 5 or 6 times a year. Delicious. Mutton I've only had twice. The mutton was slow roasted over a fire and smeared heavily with garlic onion salt and pepper. It was them thin sliced and served much like roast beef on wick. I found it most enjoyable

There's a BBQ joint in KC named Bryants that has quite a cult following built up on Mutton. Not bad, but kinda greasy.

As I was reading this thread, I was wondering about goat. What would compare it to and does anybody else have any opinion of goat meat?

I'll take good lamb chops over pork chops any day.
It takes some know how to prepare mutton.

The best in Atlanta is Grecian Gyro. They have five locations. Their motto is Once a Week go Greek. I definitely have them on my weekly rotation as I'm working around town.

You want the potatoes with sauce.

To my taste buds it reminds me alot of venison in texture if not taste. It certainly isn't beef or pork.

I had a fair amount of lamb when I was a kid. My mom liked it so she cooked it a bunch. I like it. One thing we always had with it was this mint sauce , very thin , liquid.

Another good one is up near the intersection of National and Greenfield.Just like if you want exceptional Italian go to Fellipos. Her was an original Italian and could swear in Italian when mad.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.
