I was the same way. This year no bear tag and no one in the family either. Not waiting until the middle of October this year. If there is a good one on camera I will be in the stand opening weekend. Why short yourself a month of hunting.

Will you be hunting with an outfitter for the Wolf hunt in Ontario?

Another question is why are you hunting wolves in September?

And another one, are you paying to hunt these wolves in September?

JP, hunting with my good friend Chris LaVoie, Pine Acres camp Vermillion Bay Ont. Been going there and friend's since 1983.

Retirement, time to enjoy some time.

The price for a wolf hunt is $1895.00 with Chris. I will probably not hunt till later but the season is open. Hoping off and on over the next couple of months, fish, check out baits, scout etc.

Going up for bear camp on August 12, the season opens on the 15th, fun to hang around the camp and hunters. I've shot enough black bears.

Deer hunting there end of October as well.

I can't wait (but I'll have too) !!! Bow hunting is one of my favorite outdoor pastimes. Sept 1st.... I think... is Colo opener for OTC bull elk. Hunting is why we go.... but almost as important is the time in elk camp. The campfire, the scenery, wall tents and wood stoves and the surprises are just a few of the things I love! Leaving Nebraska's hot weather and having it snow a foot the next day when your at elk camp up high in the rockies is a super cool experience. I also plan to bow hunt speed goats along the Nebr/WY border for a week. And plan on hitting SW Nebr or the sandhills a couple times for a few days each time trying for a nice muley. Then back home to SE Nebr for some pre rut and rutting whitetail bucks outside my back cabin door. May set up a camp down in the creek for weekend BS sessions with my buddies. Might even try bear hunting with my elk OTC hunt ! Come on Sept !!!

Because killing a big deer doesn't mean that much to me anymore.
And I just enjoy hunting deer when they start the annual "rut". Fun time to be in the woods.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo
