I’ve heard of cases where tick bites did that but I don’t personally know anyone it’s happened to

Look up Brenda Valentine. She is a “famed” huntress who contracted it.

Happened to neighbor up the road. Now cannot eat beef or pork......very militant about it. If he does, has an allergic reaction and goes into shock, similar to people hypersensitive to bee stings. They said it might eventually go away, but until then, he is condemned to eating a lot of fish and chicken.

Ticks suck.

Know a handful of folks here with it, some as far back as 10 years ago.

A buddy of mine is having reactions to red meat now. Tested positive yesterday for rocky mountain spotted fever. Waiting results for Lyme's and alpha gal. Had bullseye rash about two weeks ago.

We've got multiple cases in county. A few have recovered over time.

I gave a well known name you could pull up and read about that would probably disagree with your “wack job” statement. This isn’t something brand new, been around quite a while now. Hope you or any of us never get it. I can’t imagine life without beef, pork, or wild game on the menu.

I do know someone who got this from a tick bite. When I told him that I could make a Canada Goose breast taste reasonably like a steak, he didn't believe...he believes now, and it has made him happy as a clam after 3 years of chicken, chicken or chicken LOL.
Be careful

Just happy to be here.

It’s true a coworkers wife can only eat chicken and fish due to bite and my cousins husband can only eat chicken and fish and can eat a little extremely lean beef, whatever happens they can’t digest the red meat so it’s not BS .

I was diagnosed with it a couple years ago. My face kept swelling up, lips, eyes, and couldn’t figure out why. Finally had a blood test that showed I had alpha-gal from a tick bite. Been taking Zyrtec every day now to keep symptoms away and be able to eat meat without issues.
