I’ve become more of a predator and furbearer hunter after starting trapping a few years ago, and always wanted to shoot a bear. I’ve bought bear tags in PA for years, hunted hard some years, and never had the opportunity to harvest a bear, always seeing them out of season, and quite a few within bow range. Anyways, went to Idaho last spring and killed an absolutely awesome bear with hounds. Then last fall had a small male run thru opening day of bear rifle and killed my first ever PA bear. So now it’s about shooting a big boar with a bow this year in my home state. Here’s my Idaho and PA bear from last year. Waiting on both rugs and my Idaho bear skull still. Hopefully soon.

I’m no bear expert, but the few pics I’ve gotten on this farm, it looks to be a good size bear. Honestly until I see them in person they are very hard to judge. I added a pic of myself for reference, I’m 6’1”

If you got bear trail cam pics you want to share, It would be awesome to see them and what you think they weigh. Or share pics of bears you harvested and known weight.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Looks like some nice corn fed bear there.
This one’s harder to tell, average or a touch bigger I think. The cams been investigated by the buggers a couple weeks ago so it’s tilted. Have to cross a couple swamps to get to it. The corn fields start about 2 miles from this cam, it’s in the thick bush. The corn is always a gong show, full of bear & coons.

I'd say that bear is 220_240 on the hoof.
Kill him if you like him. smile

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

So I was thinking 250, but I have no idea lol. I guess based off of what I’ve seen it’s easy to over estimate them.

Nice looking color phase. Do you guys grow oats down there. Once the oats get ripe it is bear heaven here.

My dad had a bear tag last year and we got some cool pics on the baits throughout the summer. He tagged out opening day on a nice 300 pound boar.

The bear in the bottom picture would have my attention.

Some real nice bears in those pics, keep ‘em coming.

Sask Hunter, the noggin on that bear!! Hopefully you can get him this fall.

Osky, that one had me wondering. Last two years, the bears have consistently hit certain areas in the corn on the farm that borders me and the other farm I have bear pics at. Unless sign tells me otherwise this year, I’ll be focusing my attention there.

Moved some cams around last weekend. This one just cruised thru. It’s been wetter than wet so I figure I’ll get out Saturday and check around all the local corn fields for sign.
