go for it ,if you come up looking short on money , get a part time job

lots of places hiring

or better yet while your out there doing that think about the small business you want to start , maybe ADC work and property management.

maybe it isn't forever retirement , but it is worth living the experience before your too busted up

my dad retired at 57 work was about to kill him not from heavy lifting but stress and 80 hour weeks at a desk. he had already busted up hid body in the first career that ended at 39 with a series of back surgeries from the heavy lifting job as a driver for UPS.

mom had a good job and dad never did go back to work.

maybe you make it a couple years to transition into your own business that you can have better balance in.
just think of it as a transition.

Unless you know that you will have a significant inheritance in the near future I would suggest hanging up that pipe dream.

Based on the limited info available I predict it will not end well. Change career - yes, retire - no way.

Help a lot more around the house...cleaning, dishes, clothes washing/drying, cooking, etc. She will NOT resent you.

Get your wife a second job, she wont have any time to resent you... smile

Retiring that early? Bad idea my friend. I thought we had more than plenty to retire on. I worked til 59 with a monthly retirment check, SS, savings, wifes retirement check and her SS. We're still starting to feel the pinch of this crazy administration. Another ten years like this and there will have to be some life style changes. And we try to live well within our means. What seems like plenty now will most certainly change by the time your 65.

MTP has the Bridger 4 Dls inside diameter listed at 5 3/8.

As far as work, I'm not one of those guys who think it is harmful.

Your 39 thinking about retiring worried about money and your wife will keep working, that's just wrong.

Often times people confuse what they want and what they need to have to be happy to live A large house that cost a ton of money to built and furnish Several more ton to heat and cool If yo can be OK with living with the things that you only need and are not trying to always want more you are half way there .But understand it is a life long trip to just be content to live within your means and be able to focus on that part of your lfte style If you have health issses they may hinder your plans due to limiting you ability to preform every day cores such as feeding livestock cutting wood .Of curse the same could happen if you are still working Because I have been dealing with worseneing health I would go for the improving my life style and doing my best to sustain my health Good luck

Take a close look at those people living on the streets in San Fran. If that appeals to you then maybe.

This. You have a lot of good, productive years left that will benefit you and your family down the road.

If your back is FUBAR, you might try disability first. Check with a Lawyer.

Plenty of jobs that don't require a strong back.

If you retire, retire too something. I also hope you looked at what your yearly expenses and check against what your income is for the year. If you think you can swing it you will never regret owning your own time.

Some people just don't get it when others retire early in life. I RE because my time was more valuable than a paycheck.

Good Luck.

My lover said, "You'd be looking for a new lover.". I've had back repairs and financials are good, everything is paid for, but with the economy being what it is, I'm not doing anything stupid. I'm 53...

It is your responsibility to provide financially for your family, not your wifes.

If you have your house and a vehicle paid off that is like having a part time job in itself
