If that's corn, corn bore. I think they claim to spray until tassels turn brown to get the latest generation.

on a different note , just imagine that painted different with a little armor , and 4 50cal MG and 8 rockets

AKA sky warden , close air support air craft , that gives strafing runs a hole new meaning when they can fly under the power lines

They were using a drone here the other day to spray a corn field. Like this one.

Farmer used to spray a defoliant on cotton, but in September. No cotton north of NC.

Don't know your regs or laws in your states but here in WI if you were spraying a pesticide, (herbicide or insecticide) people within a certain range of say miles or those with bee hives etc. would need to be notified.
If it is corn bore it would be the 2nd wave. My guess and just a guess could be a fungicide for some of the wilt diseased in corn and a fungicide does not need to notifications or precautions in WI like the pesticides do.
If it is for corn bore then with the crop tasseling and silking the timing is good as the bore larva eat the silks and thus prevent pollination or kernel development.

They spray fungicides and insecticide if needed ( bug juice). We are selling a lot of insecticide this year. More drones are being used every year.

It is more blessed to give than to receive

A few years ago, when spraying the field across the street, a crop duster in a bright yellow plane, with red stripes, killed one of my peach trees and damaged another.

It in just into Dane county that they were spraying , near Stoughton , unsure what they were spraying , but it was corn and a lot of fields in silk so very possible that is what it is.

Pesticides would be my guess. That is what is sprayed here in late season.
