The otter is the only animal I fear going under a house to chase out.
Had many a times one would circle around to my 6

I have never had that pleasure but have had to release a few and that’s not something I look forward to every year

I have often referred to otters as chainsaws with legs. Seen them foot trapped and they are the only trapped critter that I have ever been scared by. Also saw one kill a black lab in the water. Chunks of meat were being removed by the otter from the dogs face and neck by the otter who was a blur in its quickness.

Water Badgers

My grandma has said the three most dangerous animals around here, in order, are Grizzly bear, otter and lynx bugs. Lol. She did say that though. My grandpa too has always said otters are dangerous

Had one I released caught her in a coon set in the ditch by the chicken coup. It was spring and coons were hamering the chickens. She was nursing and caught front left foot in a 1.5 Duke. I'm here to tell you now she was fast has a long neck and short legs. Her head got under that 3/4" piece of ply wood and she chomped down it like a typewriter turning it into saw dust. Boy was I happy when I got the springs released enough her foot came loose and she took off up the ditch and I still had all my fingers.

Probably another case of someone seeing wildlife and wanting to get too close for a selfie
