There is some truth in that, but only half-truth.
1. I do like to debate. I think it can be a fun way to test each other's beliefs, as well as one's own. I myself have learned many things by debating here. Or by watching debates by others.
What I don't understand is why some people who don't like or want to debate bother to reply to me. Please note Law Dog's advice.
2. I'm not afraid to debate controversial issues with people who take opposing views.
3. When I debate I do try to win, which means sometimes I step on toes, I guess.
4. I avoid ad hominem attacks. I even strive to do so not to reply in kind. This does not mean I'm above making someone look foolish who attacks me first.
5. If you really think you're reading me correctly, you might consider an adult literacy program. There, I did it, didn't I?
Sorry.
Jim
There it is... Classic James. It's always some noble pie-in-the-sky academic debate... Broadening other's minds by forcing them to defend their beliefs. But it isn't. He hates everything about this country and thinks you should pay more taxes to change it so we can achieve the socialist utopian dung heap that he learned about in college a century ago. He's your typical leftist academic who would solve all of society's ills if we would just put him in charge and listen to him... After all, he's the smartest one here in this cyberscape inhabited by troglodytes. And now that I (or anyone else) "hatefully" called him out on his BS, he will likely do what he always does... "Appeal to authority" and get the thread axed. The cycle is so predictable it's practically one of the laws of physics. Mike

Self-defense, on the other hand, is legal.
Jim James, I don't have a "dog in this issue" however, if you are an attorney, you should know that your statement is not entirely correct or somewhat misleading. Defensible self-defense is generally based on the circumstances that are present at the time of the event. You are correct!!! I believe a young man proved that in Kenosha Wisconsin.

Well, James, didn't take you long to get the forum in an uproar. As Lawdog said, all of you must have learned nothing, lol.
You still lawyering James? I know I've ask you before, but what sort of law is it you practice? I may need a lawyer....

This statement demonstrates the lack of credibility in the rest of your words. I have never done such a thing.
To be clear, I don't ask Paul or the mods to delete threads. I've never done that. Why do you suppose Paul would do what I say? He's his own man.
Now that you've wrecked your credibility, what will you post next? Or will you scurry away in embarrassment?

Don't y'all get bored with just a single point of view all the time? Law Dog doesn't like debate. His rigid cop mentality doesn't tolerate divergent opinions. To his credit, he has the self control to resist responding to posts he doesn't like. A sensible approach. I retired from law practice in 2014. But why would you ever consider hiring me, an idiot liberal, anyway? Jim

I enjoy different view points. It can (and I said can) make for interesting discussions. I, for one, am enjoying this thread. Just don’t get it axed as I think it is coming.

So you're looking for an idiot lawyer with no morals?

Jim Naw. I'm looking for a SMART liberal lawyer with no morals. I know they're out there. The 2020 election proved that.

I called the sheriffs non emergency number a couple weeks ago. Headed down the interstate at 530 AM. Still dark. A car half on the shoulder and half out in the right lane. Somebody down in the grass walking around. Been pretty easy to hit that car.

James you said you like to take opposite point of view in a debate, but there was debate. Debating is using words to persuade others to your point of view to others using facts or reasoning to your point of view, you went straight to action by saying stop or I'll call the law. You didn't debate why dueling would not be a good idea.
You say dueling was murder, is it?? Some don't see it as murder if you agree to it. MMA although it's not pistols you sign a waiver to go in a ring against a man that knows how to kill you with his bare hands, one hit to one area on one certain day could kill you, is that other guy held responsible for murder?? You agreed knowing what could happen to you or what you could do to the other?? Pistol dueling is an Agreement between two people who agree to draw on a count and pull, best aim/quickest draw wins. If one doesn't agree and is shot then it is murder. I am pretty sure the statement was if dueling was brought back which made it legal he would be dead or a few others on here. I don't see this as a threat because of an agreement was made and it would be legal at that time to do so. also how can it be mass murder?? Because like stated dueling would have to be an agreement, and your dueling one vs one??
I'm also on the fencer, Biden is worthless, do I believe trump is the answer no, because just like last time no one will let him do a job, he will be more worried about getting on tv to state this and ignore our true problems and work for this country and turning it around, so I don't really fault trump it's just going to be the same circle as we did the last time and living on the past and bringing all his past doings up to get him booted doesn't do anything for this country and we need to move on because things are going to heck in a basket quick. So I'm on the fence of who I think is right for the job, and unlike others on this site I don't think all democrats are wrong and bad, I was raised one, my dad is one slowly converting though due to nonsense he See's he also a Christian man so alot goes against his beliefs. But I'm sure there is an old school democrat out there that could run this country just fine. I personally don't keep up with politics to big degree because I rather live my life with my family then give my attention to the power trippers and crooks in politics. I say this because I have read some of your things and I dont think belief wise some of us are too far (right) for your thinking.

Had 18 rounds of .45 and 9 mm fired a block over last Saturday. Woke me up, but I rolled over and went back to sleep. Hoping legal weed calms them down... You have very good ears to distinguish calibers....lol The cops picked up the casings for evidence. What I heard was what sounded like someone pounding on our front door.
