As I understand it, the N American marsupial, aka 'Possum's, are very resistant and essentially immune to rabies due to a lower than usual body temp. Does this apply to other Marsupials as well? ie: Australia has numerous other species of M's, are they resistant to Rabies too, and is Rabies even a problem "Down Under"?

Every kid needs a Dog and a Curmudgeon.

Remember Bowe Bergdahl, the traitor.

Beware! Jill Pudlewski, Ron Oates and Keven Begesse are liars and thiefs!

From my understanding of Australia, rabies would be one of the least exciting ways that wildlife is trying to kill you down there.,

Yes, it appears rabies is too boring for Australia.

Australia is free of rabies, as the virus does not occur in land-dwelling Australian animals. Australia does, however, have other similar viruses, which are found in bats. Rabies, which is a viral infection, is spread by the bite of an infected animal, domestic or wild, e.g. dog, fox, or bat.Oct 11, 2022
