Which brands and/or models of brands have you had the best luck with. We've had mostly Foodsaver brand and they seem to work okay for awhile but after a couple years they start acting up.
Anyone have any recommendations for a long lasting vacuum sealer?

Anyone have any recommendations for a long lasting vacuum sealer? I like the food saver , only one I've used. Ruined a couple doing sweet corn , as the juice was too much and ruined the sealer and the motor was burned up. Learned to bag , and freeze ,then vacuum pack. Bags are said to be reusable , but I have bad luck with them after washing and drying . To me that's the bad part , the bags get costly.

Cabelas commercial grade vacuum sealer has been a very good investment for my family. We've had it for six years and put up all the vegetables from the garden, five deer a year, and a couple of hogs. Haven't had a problem yet, and is not ridiculous expensive.

This is a good post! I’ve been wanting to buy a vacuum sealer for a few years now. I should buy one before Deer season starts!

We’ve had 3 in the past 25-30 years with this Game Saver Silver being about 6-7 years old. We put-up two deer a year for 10-12 years with no problem even with the older models. We use it about every day and as with the other two, love it and would replace it in a heartbeat if it conked out on me! BTW, GameSaver rolls are heavier then the regular. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/08/full-3536-184792-img_0068.jpeg)

The best one I've used and am very happy with is Weston. The Weston Pro series are amazing. Every part of a Weston can be replaced as parts are readily available. I use mine a lot and it just keeps on going and going. Weston also makes the best vacuum bags too. I use mine a lot. We will process over 1,000 pounds of deer and wild pig each season, hundreds of ducks and geese, and a LOT of fish, shrimp, oysters, softshell crabs, etc. It is also very hard to over-heat it. Have you used any of the Weston's that aren't the Pro Series?

Thanks guys. We don't really use our sealer enough to justify spending $400 on one.
Pete ordered new gaskets for the one we have now, see if that makes it work any better.
