About seven or eight years ago, with Paul's permission, I offered for sale copies of the issue of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction that contained my science fiction trapping story, "Trapping the Pleistocene." I think I charged ten bucks a copy including postage, which meant a small loss to me personally. I didn't sell all my copies, but ten or twelve people bit on the offer. Now Neil Clarke, a well-known editor in SF print media, has bought reprint rights to my story for an e-zine. Issue 103, August 2023 edition of Forever Magazine is out NOW, and can be purchased for $2.99 at places like Barnes & Noble. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/forever-magazine-wyrm-publishing/1122003539A future trapper is sent back in time to Pleistocene era Ohio to find a missing friend and to catch a giant beaver, so the species can be reintroduced to North America. The hero finds his friend in a surprising location, and the story turns on their attempts to catch a giant beaver. Will they succeed and be able to return to their own time? Will they even want to return to their own time? Jim

I don't live a sad life at all.
Comfortably retired since age 59.
Married for 48 years to a woman who still loves me.
Have two wonderful children and four grandchildren.
Have a few good friends--all I want.
Live where I want to live, near family and in good fly fishing country.
Doing what I want to do, writing fiction. When not tormenting folks here, that is!

Thanks, Paul. The first half of September is booked for a road trip to Denver for a family reunion. Is the OSTA convention later in the month? Will there be many people who want to kill me? lol
My folks don't live in Columbus anymore, but I've got some old high school friends I wouldn't mind seeing. If I make it, I'll bring you a good cigar too.

I guess I was one of those that bought the magazine the first time. I thought you're story was very good. The best one in the publication for sure. I liked you're depiction of the future technological society. It might be prophetic An actual reader! Welcome! Can I get you something to drink? Something to eat? Here, take my favorite lounge chair, kick back and take a load off. You sure you don't want anything to eat? What's that you say? You'd like to read something else I've written? Well, certainly. I have eight or nine other stories... Seriously, that you very much for reading and I'm glad you liked my story. Jim

James, I think your story sounds good. I will need a copy. Thanks for posting where I can get one.

I expect Hal would like it to be hugged by a giant mama beaver.
