Anyone know of anyone or had or have problems before ? I have had trouble for many years an did next nothing for many years. Notice some worse of it . Finally went to brain health today see therapist an go back in month. I did once yrs ago an was told no real cure for paranoid problems . Take small dose Seroquel at nite for sleep trouble for years but this is different . Waste lots time with thoughts if did something right or continue look repeatly like if closed door. Stove off bfore work. After check oil. Stare under hood for 3 min. Sometimes, Sounds crazy an don't like be like that , when do it. Makes u feel like crap for do it. Docter told me that these problems can take over ur brain an once u start do this check stuff. Hard quit an u feel terrible after for do such things. Was hard go as concerned about driving with go such place of what they do . But aslong as not problem driving or drinking. Or control substance..ok. They don't stop u . I better driver then some . Really wierd go someplace like that an talk someone about such wierd stuff. But therapist knew exactly What was. Say very hard do at first but got tell urself u check something like door lock or whatever an force urself to go on an not check again . Most this happens at home or not while clock into work but after. Not like be like this as could even be a target or victim of crime when someone see u like that somewhere byself. I try do what told do today with done improvement as not che k a door lock or stare at something more 5 seconds to make sure it right . I don't do this whole drive an concentrate driving, just wonder anyone know anyone like that, it totally sucks be like that , try quit do it with anything after appt today. Found myself forget things after shop with put stuff away home

I think we all double check ourselves sometimes. Pretty sure you’re older than I am, but dang man I’ll walk in the kitchen and forget what I went to get in the first place, lol.

It’s also good to seek help when things like that bother you. Hardest thing for us men to do is recognize a problem and do something about it. Proud of you for going.

Cure and treatment are two different things. Hopefully, you’ll make progress with good treatment, and put your mind to rest.

I'm so glad you are seeking help for your PPD dave. I have read up on it and it won't be easy but you have taken a big step in the right direction. If there is something us trappers can do to help you control this please ask.

Glad you are talking to someone Dave. It will be a process, but you got this man. I think we all have had some stuff go on, or know someone who suffers from mental health issues. It’s real and not something to be ashamed of to ask for help. You have our support and we believe in you.

Hope ya get to feeling better Coonman.

When I first started working on customer vehicles, I'd worry that I didn't tighten something or forgot something. After awhile, ya learn to trust yourself.

My wife & her family have a history of mental health issues, this stuff is real and can be very debilitating for the person affected. I'm glad you're seeking help Dave and please keep up with the Dr visits. I do wish you the best and you will get better, you have to believe that.
Good luck.

I've had big troubles with depression for a long time now. It gets better if I spend a lot of time out side and if I got somthing to put my energy into. I ignored a lot of my mental problems for a long time but recently when ever I'm under a lot of stress now I'll puke. It's getting better as I've realized I can't just ignore things and I talk to friends about it which helps. Somedays I'll feel useless and other days I'll feel great. Some of it has to do with my family. MY dad is sonthing of an acholholic so I can't ever rely on him or really ever talk. And my mother is just hostile half the time. Then there's some other things but this is already long enough and I don't want to make this about me all that much. It's good that your getting help and good luck.

I don't know but I do know that Underground before we dropped we all took a knee and Prayed. I different person Prayed every night. We prayed for our Safety well Being and for our Families. We did the same when the shift was over. For this we all prayed to THANK him for getting us back up top and a safe shift. So basically PRAY for your Health. I know a whole Church prayed for mine and even though I was not supposed to live through the night I did and God did that for me through Prayer and he can do that for you.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Unless u take drastic measures . All can do is go in talk to them an try get over it urself or somewhat . Pretty wary go them places of what they could do. Aslong as not take meds that effect driving or real bad off as some can't drive, was concerned about drivers license an ask questions when there. I be done without drivers license. Really value license, some that have medical trouble, eye sight problem or anything . Go docter an until or if conditions improve. Until docter release u. Ur ins is no good in wreck. Which likeky be found out about if happen , I have heard of all stories of institutions an old folks home, not serious enough for that I don't think. I wouldn't want to be in institution. There is a big one about hour away. There some in there for life like prison .

I got a buddy with the same thing coonman.
He is on meds and is normal when on his meds, and he drives, has a licence etc.
If he runs out of meds or misses some or stops taking them for some reason it isnt long before he thinks the govt is tapping his phone etc,can see the paranoia coming on.

So glad to hear you're taking the first steps in getting yourself better. Please stick with it. They'll probably want to talk to you several times in order to better understand what's going on with you before they decide to prescribe you something. They DO make medications to treat both paranoia and also the obsessive behavior you're describing (like double checking everything repeatedly).

I don't think that they will want to put you in an institution. Not many people these days go there and all of them that do have way worse symptoms than yours. Most of the medications they would prescribe will not affect your ability to drive. If you're worried about that just let them know you can't take anything that would prevent you from driving.

The important thing is to be honest with your doctors. If you're hiding stuff from them, they won't be able to help you. Tell them everything you tell us, maybe even show them some of your posts from on here, so that they can get a good idea of what symptoms you have so that they know best how to treat you.

Posting this took a LOT of courage Dave and you're very brave for doing so. Proud of you for deciding to get yourself fixed up.

Stay with the therapy Dave, things will start to seem better even if they are the same, better perspective on life.
