So as I have said before we own a home in Charleston that is a Duplex. We originally bought out my Family so I could be closer to my Doctors and work. Now we want to Donate it to Veterans and Probably Going to Wounded Warriors or Tunnels to Towers. Since it is just three Blocks from the Hospital and 2 doors from the Police Department it would be best for Combat wounded Veterans. Now the elderly lady that lives upstairs lost her Husband about 3 years ago. He was a Combat Wounded Vietnam Veteran and that is why we will not evict this woman. She pays her Utilities and that is fine by us. Now she is the type of woman who can talk on and on and on. Well this morning my wife wanted us to go to the Grocery store for a few things while we are staying in Charleston getting our stuff packed up and taking to the Farm in Clay County and some on into the home we are buying in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. Well the elderly lady comes down hinting about needing to go to the store. The light in my head goes off and I blurt out that my wife just wanted us to go to the store as well. So why don't the two of you go and I will wait here and get some more packing done. My wife was giving me that you are a dead man look. When they walked down the walk that old lady was gabbing a mile a minute about EVERYTHING and she will still be gabbing by the time they get home!!! Talk about saving yourself!!!

I was coming back from camp a couple of weeks ago and stopped at a McDonald's for lunch. They were backed up so the drive-thru girl had me park and wait for my food. This old guy walking by on the sidewalk starts eyeballing the ATV in my truck bed and wanders over.

He started by telling me how he used to ride eighty-ninety miles a day on the local trails. went on to pretty much tell me his life story; wife divorced him after a remodel their kitchen and bought all new living room furniture for her, fell on ice and cracked his skull and all the details how they removed a piece until the brain swelling went down then reattached it, kids want him to move out of the mountains and into town, on and on.

I figured the girl bringing our food out would save me but no, he just kept right on talking. I finally told him I had a five-hour drive ahead of me and started the truck. He took the hint and left.

He was an interesting old guy but boy could he talk. Said he was 97. Said he was going to walk down to the old folk's home because the ladies sit out and he liked to talk to them. LOL

Eh...wot?

I get that every where I park my GTO. Had a old guy rambling on and on about all his cars he’s had. I just put my cell phone to my ear and say into the make believe call....yup I’ll leaving right now ....and leave abruptly. Iam good at it.

first lesson of marriage

never ever volunteer your wife for anything , not thanksgiving , not having your folks over , not dropping your niece off at camp.

you can tell them the issue and let them volunteer and they will voluntold you many things but don't volunteer them , they get mad if it wasn't their idea.

also grocery shopping may be a sacred thing not in need of disturbance

my wife has a routine and you best not even take the store out of order or you will be responsible for whatever didn't get picked up , no matter how good the list is , there is a mental list that is triggered when the see that isle.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It doesn't take much to set them off. I think they lie in wait looking for a reason. Mine does. I just ignore her or go to my shop.

If I'm good at anything, it is making the wife mad. I think she's happiest when she's mad.

I figured with the average age hear yall would know my secret by now. I purposely do small things she can get mad about so she is to distracted to notice the big things.

That Old lady was still talking my wifes ear off when they got home. So I hid in the Bathroom until she went upstairs to her Apartment. Now my wife will not speak to me and I don't know if it is because she is mad or just tired of hearing her voice nonstop. But the silence is nice!!!

Some of those elderly people who live alone are just that, lonely. When they get a chance to have someone to visit with they make the most of it. Tell your wife she did her good deed for the day.

There was a guy up at the lake, that was in his late 80s who lived alone. My wife was always bugging me that I should stop in and visit with him a spell. She said, him being all by himself would more than likely enjoy some company once in a while. I stopped in and couldn't get away from him. He was talking non-stop for two hours. I still visited him occasionally after that first time, but had a ready excuse pre-arraigned each time.

Around here people buy up those places around hospitals and then list them for rent on air b and b. I'm sure you could post a discount for veterans or something. Just a thought. Hopefully it helpful.

That is what we BOTH normally do with this lady. She is lonely and cannot stop but yesterday especially I was trying to get our stuff boxed up and I still had the whole Basement to do. And NO I was not in trouble. I was just walking into the Bathroom holding my clothes in my hand when I heard the lady still gabbing on the Porch so I dodged into the Bathroom and jumped into the shower using it as an excuse to get out of a long winded gab session. Ever walk up and down flights of Stairs for two hours hauling those Plastic locking Bins full of stuff. You sweat. The shower eas just convenient enough to get me out of the Gab Session. I really think that she should walk around the corner and go to that elderly convention center and play some Bingo or Cards and Mingle with them. We have suggested it but she won't go. I do feel sorry for her. I think she misses her husband.

The city wants it for another Homeless shelter. I want it for Veterans only. Wounded Combat veterans mainly or preferable. I think that Wounded Warriors or Tunnels to towers are going to be the new owners. Our Lawyer is a distinguished Combat Veteran and he is taking care of it. Thank you for your input. We originally thought this was going to be a shoe in until the city came into the Picture and tried to force us to go homeless. NO WAY!! They would destroy it and applying to Veterans only is NOT Racist or any kind of 'IST' according to our Lawyer.
