This will be my first Coyote Days and I can’t wait. The 18th is my birthday, so Coyote Days is my present to myself. It’s always been my dream to trap west of the Missouri. Since I retired a year ago I've been converting an enclosed trailer into an off-grid trapping camper. And this season I’ll either be heading to western Nebraska, or Wyoming. I’m really excited about meeting and learning from some of the best predator trappers in the country. And just having a great time with a bunch of like minded people. By the way. This my first time on Trapperman.
Welcome to T-man! Be prepared for your brain to go into overload with all the information that'll get thrown at you. Bring along a full note pad and a new pen as you can't possibly remember all that information! I'm looking forward to making the pilgrimage again, even more so with Rick!
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Yep, Bill is right, Fort Robinson near Crawford Nebraska is a really historic, beautiful place to stop and see too.
Jim, I’m glad to hear you are planning on attending, and I know you’ll meet a lot of great people, and pick up some great info too
Rick, it’ll be good to see you again, glad to hear you’re making the trip
Todd, I’ll make sure the Texas ‘cat is thawed out in time for your demo on Friday, and I’ll haul the carcass to the freezer at my shop before it stinks too bad this year.
Scout. Yes, we will have lots of good info, and I’m glad you are making the trip again! See you there!

We’re a week away!
Things are shaping up nicely and we’re getting some of the last minute details worked out as needed.
We’re getting more calls every day, from new attendees, as well as past attendees, and we are expecting an excellent crowd.
The weather app shows the weather will be great, with high 80’s for the afternoon, with cool evenings.
We have an option of using the new pavilion for demos if it rains a bit in the evening for a few minutes.
The demo presenters I’ve talked to lately are getting things lined out in their mind, and the topics we’ll cover are going to cover Coyotes & ‘Cats from A-Z
The fairgrounds in Lusk is at the SW corner of town, and the north gate will be open. The building we use is at the south end. The check-in desk is in that building, where wristbands for attending ($10) raffle tickets, T-shirts, food concessions and dealers are going to be.
The tickets for the banquet on Saturday night are $25 a person, and those will be available at the sign in desk too. The banquet will be in the large building at the north end of the grounds, across road from the camping
The banquet will include a Rib Steak dinner, speakers, fur fashion show, scholarship/endowment fund presentation, raffle drawings, and auction
There is no need to pre-register for the banquet, and the tickets are sold at the check-in desk also
The food concession Includes: Home made biscuits & gravy for breakfast, and then from mid morning thru the day until we close the doors at 6:30 pm or so, the girls will have Sloppy Joes, tacos, and pulled pork sandwiches.
I’ll keep you updated on the weather!
Have a good day, Thanks, John

Nice buckle, and take in fur trader museum in Neb. We went through it on way back for F.T.A. 2017. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/08/full-20847-185910-20170626_112052.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/08/full-20847-185911-20170626_115717.jpg) Well worth it. Safe travels to all.

Yes, the museum in Chadron is a must see, thanks Chad
Bill is right, there will be a lot of ground covered on ‘cats and cat trapping and snaring, and a demo by one of the most successful cage trappers in the country, by Jim Ball from Arizona. (Over 100 ‘cats a season)
Everything will be talked about, from scouting to sets, to Todd Fairchild from Colorado skinning and putting up a ‘cat from start to finish
The most knowledgeable ‘cat garment maker, Michael Pappas, will also be attending Coyote Days, and I’ll have him give some updates on what he thinks the future looks like
And, Coyote knowledge and experience like no other
It’s only a few days away now, and we’ll be setting up on Thursday afternoon, and I know some people are already heading this way.
Bill and Riley are going to pick up some stuff for demo props, and Jim and I are going to hunt some coyotes in the.morning, and talk about last minute demo needs
Looks like 95 for high on Friday, but 80’s on Saturday
Safe travels everyone!
Thanks, John

Len and Jim, welcome aboard!
It’s going to be a busy day, and we’ll setting up the building at south end of grounds later this afternoon, and be ready for the event to start bright and early on Friday morning!
I have a few other announcements:
Nickie Swartz is bringing some Airedale pups with her, and they’d be the right age to take home and get them started going with you this fall. If anyone is looking for a good dog, look her up while here.
Les Johnson is bringing a lot of Hornady ammo with him, and he’ll be set up in the building, ready for business on Friday morning.
The weather looks good, maybe a touch warm, but not too bad.
I want to apologize in advance to everyone, because I’m not always able to stop and visit with everyone as much as I’d like to, but I WILL eventually!
I wear a lot of hats for 3 days, and I’m often pulled a lot of directions at once.
Most of the demo presenters will be rolling in this afternoon/evening, and the place will be humming Friday morning
Doors open at 6 a.m.
Biscuits & Gravy for breakfast
Live Star Spangled Banner at 7:45 a.m.
First demo, 8 a.m., Friday I’m kicking it off with my close friend and coworker, Dale Greenough We are the county trappers for Niobrara Co. WY., and we’ll be talking about a variety of things that will interest people that want to learn about the world of predator control
See you there!
Safe travels, John
