A Glenwood #6 Baseheater. Many consider this to be the Holy Grail of coalstoves. This was made around the turn of the last century. With housewives tired of coal dust and the advent of oil-fired boilers and furnaces, it's a wonder any survived. A lot of them got tossed at the dump or the rockpile on the back forty. This pic is from the 1850s farmhouse it came from. The elderly man who sold it to me remembers his mother burning it when he was a child. This thing is complete and in fantastic shape. It's going in my cabin. Amazing

Have to agree with everyone that is one heck of a nice find, not sure I'd take metal polish to it though the aged patina adds to the uniqueness and value. Oh the stories it could tell
