I forced down a chunk of prime beef tenderloin this evening along with a nice garden salad and a small baked potato. I reckon I'll be dead by morning... frown

Once you have the dried meat and tallow mixed up just press it down into a cake pan and put it in the fridge for a couple hours. It will harden up and you can cut it into cubes. Add some berries or dates if you want.

That's funny right there. Woah is us, having to choke down as many of those as we can hold, while at the same time the pounds fall right off.

I’m just starting it and I will say I’ve been the kind of person that’s been able to eat what I want when I want but I’d like to lower my BP. I’ve never been a sweets guy so the idea I can eat the fatty foods is appealing to me.

Add some vigorous exercise, lots of water and add a tablespoon of fiber to all your drinks and whatever you can add it to.

Been on a nutrition diet for some time. If my nutritionist taught me anything, fiber is the game changer. It helps your body digest carbs smoother without the spike. I get 12-15 tbsps a day of oat fiber.

side note: it does NOT make you poop more.

This^^^

Most of us would not recognize the bread our ancestors ate. It was dark, heavy, made noise when it hit the plate and actually had nutritional value. The garbage that passes for bread now is a loaf of easily convertible sugar. But it tastes pleasant and can sit on a shelf forever because it has no nutrients to go bad.

The reason we're all so fat isn't the carbs... At least not by themselves. When we process wheat, rice, etc... now we remove all of the bran and fiber. Fiber is hard (or impossible) to digest which slows the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream.
If there isn't enough (or any) fiber the carbs are easily broken down into sugar and spike your blood sugar. This triggers the pancreas to release insulin which immediately converts all of that sugar into fat. You literally starve while getting fat. Which is the reason for your sluggish carb coma feeling.

I'm not sure you can even get the kind of wheat flour our ancestors ate... I'm betting the "whole wheat" stuff they sell now doesn't even come close. You're probably better off just eating meats/fat. I was amazed at the energy, clarity, and focus I had when I was in ketosis. I could get by eating one meal a day if there was enough fat in the meat... No shakes, no trembles, no weakness. It's just a miserable time getting through the withdrawal from carbs, but worth it once you get there.

And I will second the lots of water advice too.

Our ancestor never ate grain, or bread this was started just a couple thousand years ago when we became farmers. And the ones that ate it a lot, also got fat, and probably diabetic.
The eating of whole grains is not healthy at all. It does slow the absorption but still very high carbs.

Remember even our animals we associate with eating grain is a farce. They never ate out of wild fields of grain. Neither did we. No such thing. They ate grass and thats what we should be eating, grass fed beef. Not grain fatted beef.

Have been on this for 5 months now and have lost 35 pounds. Rotisserie chickens and London Broiles is my main snack food get them at Safeway and keep them in fridge. I have learned that food is just stuff to keep you alive . Just bought a grass feed cow the other day and shot a bear about a month ago and caught some salmon. All the moose and caribou is gone till hunting season . I also eat pickles ,olives ,avocado ,cabbage ,some nuts, cheese and take turmeric and vitamin d . Now about once a month me and wife will go have dinner out and I will eat bad and pay for it for a day or two. I have found suger makes me swell up pretty bad if I decide to eat some ice cream or donuts. If I get really bad cravings for sweet I have a box of Atkins peanut butter cups and the will take care of it . I did it because after back surgery doc said best thing I could do was to lose weight to keep it from blowing back out . I am at my goal weight 210 and am keeping it there . I feel strong but not to scrawny to do the thing I want . Are son who was very big from sitting around playing games started eating all he wanted once a day for 1 hr and has lost over 90 pounds since February . He has now got a 9 to 5 working at a gravel place and going to gym in evenings . Bread is something we no longer purchase along with anything that has grain in it probably the worst thing we bring in to house now is corn tortilla the kids like them for tacos
