I forgot , I’ve killed 2 with a 1911 .45, 1 with my Glock 20, and a couple with my smith 329pd. My first ever animal harvest with a weapon was a red squirrel with an H&R sportsman .22. I love all things handguns.

Do rifle cartridges really buck in a handgun? I like the idea of a contender I have shot stout loads in big bore revolvers that had more recoil. Like allready noted the noise can get bad with big revolvers. Rifle round handguns are not ment to be fired off hand but from a rest if they have 15" barrel like my 308 did.

Osky, that Smith mountain gun is a sweet revolver! Outlaw it fits my hip really well, and in my Alaskan guide cross holster it’s not even noticed. The more I use it the more I like it. I happened on it and it’s one of those times when it feels well and hits what I point it at. I was fortunate to get it. Osky

I bought that 329pd for trips in western Montana where the population of big furry things with sharp teeth increases. It’s so light I don’t even know it’s there after a long day and heavy pack on my back. It’s not a lot of fun at the range though. Ironically, I just purchased my Holy Grail of all things handguns last week and should pick it up tomm. It’s my version of the ultimate hunter. Maybe I’ll post up some pics when I get it.

Outlaw I hope it’s all and more than you want. My 629 was purchased with a purpose in mind, protection, which it serves well. I do not practice too often with it, I am fortunate it fits my hand well and hits what I point it at, usually.
It’s useful intent when acquired was as a “last stand” point blank shove it into the fur and roll the wheel. With a 4” barrel it’s perfect for that. I just got lucky in that I can and have stretched it out farther than that with success.

Doesn't look like TC is in business anymore. I can't believe I missed them closing. I would buy an mgm barrel anyway. There are many on the used market and lots of aftermarket parts available.

Smith and Wesson 629 performance center .44 magnum hunter model, 7.5 inch barrel, holosun red dot. Those are really sharp looking shooters. Do you think the short brake makes much of a difference? Osky
