For the first time in 84 years my area is expected to be impacted by a hurricane. The forecast is saying that we will most likely beat single day rainfall records across most of the state, resulting in massive flash flooding and possible mudslides/rockslides. I hope you all down closer to the landfall area are safe, looks like it’s gonna be a bad one.

After the spiral gets done with you it is headed up my way, looking forward to it. The swath of rain is due to cover the whole NW region, over the divide , into the eastern part of the state, on up into Canada.
Lots of fires will be hindered from progress, and making life easier for the hot shots.
I too haven't known of a time that my Montana has been so directly impacted by rain from a hurricane. Though, the path of this one has gone inland just right to be able to do this.
Sorry for the flash floods, but love the rain .
Rain is good. Sun is bad....

Not to worry meteorologists are about 80% wrong.

Not to worry meteorologists are about 80% wrong. I'm expecting a lot of hype and a tiny impact, if recent forecasting history is any indicator.

This rain will be good for those drought stricken areas of South California. Will fill up those shrinking reservoirs. It will do more damage than good. Where you are 1.5 inches of rain may not seem like much, but here 1.5” in one day is can be devastating, let alone the 5” they’re calling for in some areas. The soil is so dry that it is hydrophobic, and there is no vegetation to slow the water and soak it up so flash floods can happen with even small amounts of rain

Plus the are very very fast and very destructive. I've seen a lot.

I’m outside working in the yard and it’s eerie. The air is perfectly still and heavy, dark cloud cover, all of the birds and insects are acting weird. I’m seeing insects I never see near my place, like thousands of huge dragonflies. I live nowhere near a water source. The wildlife certainly think something strange is coming.
Flash floods are no joke. Fingers crossed it peters out before it gets here. Hope you guys down south are ready
