Just out of curiosity,,, what tool do you guys always need multiples of because you always seem to lose it??For me,,, it’s always wire cutters,, I seem to lose 8-10 pairs every year. Even spray painting them bright colors doesn’t help… I don’t know how or where they disappear to.

Lose as in lose or lose as in find it on the next days check. I haven’t lost anything yet. Did find a coyote playing with a metal object on the last trap set the evening before. Turns out it was my stake driver, lol. As in totality vanished,,, gone without a trace

Lost my 330 setters last year even though I painted them bright yellow. I used my chain setter or my hands the rest of the year. Got new ones now. This year I'll paint them bright orange and see how long it takes me to lose them

I almost never lose anything. When I was single, I pretty much knew where everything I owned was all the time. I lost 1 220, otter trapping near Zanesville. Besides traps I loaned out, that I never got back, I've never lost any other traps permanently.
I did hide a Glock 17 once, before going on a long trip, that I could not find for a long time. I remembered considering hiding it my kitchen garbage can and for a long time after I got back, was worried I threw it out. I had ended up hiding it in a box of old kitchen ware and dishes.

For the last 15 years, having a lady who has never thought that's a bad place to put/leave that, I have to hunt around pretty often for stuff.

I had to paint all of my small tools orange but I'm still bad to leave my catch pole somewhere every other day or so

Paint all my tools too. Amazing how they “blend in” when not painted and you set them down in the weeds or corn stubble next to a set. All my handles are either orange or they are red with couple white stripes. Helps me ID them from other folks when I’m helping them out too. I lost a small trowel once, then found it in a pic of a catch where I stabbed it into the ground in background. Went back next day to check traps and there it was. I have never permanently lost a trapping tool. A few times I left a tool lay and either found it on the next days check or went back for it when I discovered it missing at the next set.
 Eh...wot?
