Saw another post about people disappearing from the trapping scene. Made me wonder about a few more:
1) What happened to Casy Payne? All the rage several years back but I don't ever see him or his stuff anymore.
2) The Kaatz guys? Are they still going and active?
3) Marsyada? Seems a lot of vendors are only carrying limited stock now.
4) Matt Jones?

I'm sure there are others but these come to mind quickly. Maybe its just me; maybe they're still actively involved and I just missed them.

More than likely got sick of all the know it all's and the way you have to go along with a few or they attack like a bunch of cowards.

Matt still running around on facebook and doing his school with Bryan Nelson and another guy whose name escapes me atm.

Most have moved away from forums forums . Matt Jones in on Facebook posts regularly

Kaatz bros have a very good business. Still going strong. Google them. They have a nice site. I've ordered a lot from them

They are missing out on what everyone is eating for supper

It's crazy to see new guys hit the scene, become the talk of the town and fast forward 10 yrs and they are gone.

Puts things in perspective and makes me respect guys / companies who have been in the game for a long time.

The youtube and facebook famous guys ebb and flow like the tide.

I too have wondered about Casey Payne. I know he sold his bait & lure business but I got some of his Coyote urine one time and it really produced for me.

It will be interesting to see what the future brings. Socially changes and low fur prices are increasingly making it harder for people and businesses to stick around for the long haul. Just look at MTS did with their new Alpha traps, designed them then sold the design. To me doesn't speak well of what they think the future holds in the trapping business.

Miranda, Milligan Lucero all pretty much jumped ship in the 80s when the money wasn't there. I believe June was a pharmaceutical salesman full time and the trapping thing was a side business.

It's been going on for years. But me and Mr. Dobbins, and James are in it for the long haul.

I'm glad Mr Dobbins has stuck it out.

I understand that Marsyada has retired for the lure business. I don't know if anyone is going to continue formulating his lure brand. I hear Paul Grimshaw lure's were purchased by someone but not have seen any marketed yet.
