with laughter.

I am sitting here in my recliner eating my post dinner ice cream. Looking out the window and the neighbors rooster is picking at some weeds in the fence line. He got made by our geese and they ( all four of them ) waddled up to him and he being a proper rooster stud up straight , chest out all ready to rock, when one of the geese grabbed a a beak full of feathers on his chest and plucked them out. he jumped back and tripped over his spurs,, fluttering in the dust with a huge dent in his ego. hemarched now on the other side of the track back to his place. I hope none of his harem saw that or he will never hear the last of it laugh and he may have some splainin to do about that bare patch on his chest

Some geese don't give much warning. One pinched me good years ago in my private parts when I was working in the pen changing the water in the water pans. I kept an eye on that old bird there after.

When I was a little kid the geese on my uncle's farm used to terrorize me. When you are only five years old they look like
giants and they could really put a lick on ya. Things changed when I was 6 and got my first Daisy Red Ryder. There were some mighty skittish
geese around the old farm.

That is good stuff Scuba. I will never for get my
friends farm, or the geese that would clamp their bill on my bell bottom jeans, and flog me with their wings. Bell bottoms give the date! Lol

It would be labeled as sexual harassment by most "females" today, but back in my younger years when we were doing Canada goose roundups for banding during the molt in the summer time we had a temporary female worker that got "goosed" in the process every year at least once. That is some one would hold a goose close enough to her that it would reach out and bite her when she wasn't looking! Luckily she was a good sport about it.

This morning the rooster is back but he is playing it cool and eating the weeds on the far side of the track opposite the fence row where the four geese are waiting in line to give him another hiding.
And that is why the chicken didn't cross the road grin

Sometimes when Ellie Mae is in to much of a playful mood, I tie her up on a 30 foot long leash so she can't play with the birds. The geese know exactly how far that leash goes and stand just outside that radius and taunt her. Once she has calmed down I'll unclip that leash. Sometimes without the geese knowing that I did it.

Then they taunt her and she runs right through them and they get all happy and in a panic running for the brush for cover. even though she won't chase or harm them

In Flicka 2 the city girl learned to open up a umbrella in front of the rooster just before a flogging.

Geese are great watch dogs. I have a buddy who hatched some goose eggs for a guy. Before they hatched the guy died and my buddy was stuck with 4 geese. He has mad pets out of them. He is very close with his money and when one of the geese swallowed a piece of string and that was preventing it from swallowing. He took it to a vet that had never dealt with a goose, she x-rayed it and found the problem and was able to get it out. She charged him 50 bucks and he thought it was reasonable so I guess he really likes those geese.

Many moon's ago, there was a video on here about a little kid chasing a gosling around the yard, then they ran around the end of the shed, and the kid came running back screaming, with an adult Goose hot on his trail! LOL

Reminds of a time when I had to make a farm call for some photos. I asked the guy if he had a dog I should be concerned about? He said no, but don't get out of your car if the turkey's out. He said even the dog is afraid of him.
