Looking to get one made out of my tanned hides. Anyone has any experience and or suggestions of where to have one made. Also how many it takes to make say a queen or full sized blanket.

She has made four beaver blankets for me and just finished a muskrat blanket this summer for me also. The quality of her work is absolutely stunning. You will need 12-15 large XL pelts for a queen.

Pale beaver. I tried talking into trimming it with silver Possum but didn't seem too interested

Queen size is about 16 large beavers and 20 mink for a mink collar all the way around the blanket. It will cover a Queen bed, down all 3 sides to the floor. You can't sleep under it, it weighs about 30+ pounds, and has another blanket sewed on for backing. I paid $2000 and it's been appraised at $6000 about 4 years ago. Can't recommend a sewer, because I live in Alaska and shipping would kill you!

All the beavers were pleated or sewn in 1 inch strips together. They are not round, they are square. It was professionally sewn, took months of work, thousands and thousands of stitches. I had one beaver left over and he made me a pillow out of it! Sorry, no picture.

Working on putting together one with the same design only reversed color pattern. Only need on nice black beaver pelt to finish the pattern, then I can begin sewing it together.
