My daughter came back from the ark and loved it, got chigger bites all over her from the lake house they rented for a couple days. She brought me the hunting regulations, I see I can apply for an elk tag, I know it is long odds but in Wisconsin it is 1 in 10,000 and I apply for it here. Any help in what area to apply? I killed 5 out west and carried more than that out with my buddies, but last time was 2014 and it was hard.

You apply for the drawing for 10.00 and you can apply for two different type hunts for 20.00. Bull rifle, cow rifle, bull archery and cow archery. If you get drawn then you have to buy the license. I’m not sure but I believe they assign you a hunting region. Very large areas. Lots of non residents get drawn every year. I think it’s limited to 10% of overall draw. I’m spouting from memory. Go on KDFWR’s website and they have an all about the elk hunt section. I’ve put in for 20 years and never have been drawn. My wife got a cow tag and hunted about ten seconds to fill her tag.
