Thank you
Terry

If the double jaws help you hold just a couple coons that don't have room to chew out, because the double jaw limits that room, they have paid for themselves. Any they help hold beyond that adds money to your fur check. IMO they worth the extra few bucks.

Double jaws aren't really necessary due to the small amount of room they have to chew in the first place. And then you have the springs which can block access to chewing. With that said I agree with ADC, and like the DJ option.

Terry I have held quite a few incidental coyotes in #11 double jaws at dryland coon sets. My guess is the extra jaw guard made the jaws a little stiffer and the jaws didn’t pop out. The double jaws cost slight more but those are both (standard and double jaw) tenacious little traps and awesome for coon.
Be sure to swivel the heck out of them. I even front footed a beaver in a standard jaw #11 at a coon pocket. (Stake solidly you never know what you get sometimes).

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I've heard that they are a very good otter trap . Was going to get a dozen and give them a try...

That is the trap used for relocating otter to Missouri if I remember right. I've held a lot of beaver with them while rat trapping. I add chain & swivels and stake for the biggest animal you have available. I think you could hold an elephant in a #11 if you could stake it right and he could get a toe in it !

I really can't tell the difference with a double jaw or regular jaw #11, as the feet are never chewed up from what I can see when using a #11. But I will tell you down here in South Louisiana it is one of the best nutria and otter traps you can have. Its just a neat little trap that holds like a Catahoula catch dog.

Given the opportunity, I'll buy the double jawed #11's over regular jaws. I agree with ADC; "IMO they are worth the extra few bucks."

I agree for the added cost they are probably worth it.

I have seen stamped double jaws bend if snapped on a hard object though. The Dukes are not stamped out in the very center so that won’t happen with them but on the flip side the double jaw is very shallow.

As of now I think the only production #11s are Bridgers and Dukes so for a double jaw all you have is Duke. Unless you can find some Sleepy Creek or Victor old stock.

Stamped double jaws are just a waste of manufacturing. As stated above, they don't drop far enough below the jaws to actually do anything and probably don't contribute much stability to the rest of the jaws themselves.

Really not hard to weld a nail or piece of election sign to the jaws.

Once caught a coon in a #11 black and lamb in a culvert, checked it at 5 o'clock in the morning apparently dogs had killed it and drug it off but here's the thing jis front paw and shoulder was still in the trap, now that's holding power.
