Would everyone be interested in exploring this question (if it hasn't been asked recently)?

Please list below (where you are knowledgeable) areas outside the US/CAN where strong furbearing populations (of any animal) exist, where a trapping season could-reasonably exist?

Example:

-CountryX - Beavers - 'and here are some thoughts'

-Country Y - Southwest part of the country - Red Fox

To mean: Areas where the breeding-stock, carrying-capacity, and conditions are strong enough to have a trapping season, if they decided to do it.

I've seen a lot of news of near plague levels of beaver in Argentina.

Gulo could probably write a book on them if he hasn’t already. I think that man has traveled the world and seen and done it all. Hopefully he’ll post on here.

ireland is over run with fox and mink and has populations of marten and otters as well.
My uncle Richie had a fox farm in Kildare for years back in the late 70's.
There were mink farms there also, and when the bottom fell out of the fur market Mink were released or escaped and became an invasive species.
I think trapping is allowed,at least it was when I used to go there but there is no fur market.

Sweden, Finn/Chinese racoon dog.
Russia, kolinsky (sort of looks like a cross between a mink and a ferret).

There are lots of different fur bearing cat species around the world, unfortunately even though many of them are not endangered, it is about impossible for them to be included in the fur trade due to CITES.
About 30 years ago I had the opportunity to buy a bundle of pallas cats. Been kicking myself ever sense that I didn't. They're sort of like a really huge house cat with lynx-like fur.

I thought Kolinsky was a mafia hit man from New Jersey?
