We were smack dab in the middle of the hurricane force wind field. Still was a Cat 2 as it passed over us...About 4 hours of 80 to 100 + mph winds. This is what made this storm so rough here....the fact that it maintained it's intensity this far inland as it passed over us. Other tropical systems have slowed to TS or weak Cat 1 strength when they brushed by this area of Georgia. This was a direct hit by a still very strong storm.....

Hope I don’t see another like that anytime soon...

I'm at the red dot...bullseye!!

Damage sucks, but glad you’re doing as well as can be expected. Hopefully they’ll get your power back on tomorrow.

Good deal. AC in the South is a luxury we sometimes take for granted until we don’t have it!!

The power company is definitely getting better at their game. Coming up it seemed like we lost power every time a rabbit peed on the wire and you never knew how long it would take.

Must be all the practice they get down here.

We had one casualty in the marina during the storm. A dock box got trashed by the bow of a powerboat. Other that that we made it just fine. I did a bunch of dock walks adjusting lines and replacing snapped ones etc. Highest wind speed that I saw was 73 knots. I quit putting foul weather gear on after a while as the water always found a way in and just changed clothes for something dry now and then and stuffed the wet things in the dryer at the marina. The staff left at 14:00 …. Half an hour after I got here on Wednesday. It was all done and dusted by 22:00 . No one got hurt and no boats lost. I’ll be driving home on Tuesday / Wednesday if I can get my work here done by then.

Let's go Brandon
