What can we do besides fight eachother to
Actually win?
Project coyote,defenders,wildearth guardians
Keep killing off south western states.
Public land is gone in states like
California
Arizona
Colorado
New Mexico

They are putting in overtime in Nevada
And going further and further in New Mexico
Same play book same methads same old chit and cycle
Faces from the antis each state game department and legislature has the same
Yet the big talk among trappers is the infighting among trappers

all we do is cut eachothers throats.
Our industry is dieing and alot is within.
I wish we had threads 8 pages long on how do we fight back

There i said it....

A good start would be to get REAL conservationists and natural resource managers into leadership in the Fish and Wildlife agencies of the states. Being that the leaders the agencies are hiring are college educated and indoctrinated by University professors which many have no real world experience, I don't see any real solution.

Just in my lifetime, I have seen my alma mater go from a landowner and resource based economic side of natural resources to the warm and fuzzy cute cuddly side of things. I wish I had the answers, I don't, but one thing for sure is fighting amongst ourselves don't help.

And then we have trappers and hunters voting for Liberals that want to destroy our way of life. They think they are doing good by sending in their token donations of 30 or 40 dollars to join a trappers association and then do 100x more harm by voting for these Liberal politicians. I don’t get it and I think they don’t get it. Yes, we are going gentle into that good night.

Need strong provincial trapping organizations with high percentage of trappers that are members.
Need to hire a good general manager that has political connections and able to lobby friends of trappers in government positions.
Also need dedicated board of directors that are elected by the grassroots membership whom they answer to,and thus must put forward an executive board from their ranks that is effective and works hand in hand with the GM to get things done for trappers.
This means lobbying hard in govt to have a trappers voice on ALL government comittees at the provincial level and local citizens committees at the municipal level that have any influence on resource management that affects the trapper.
Just to start.
And all trappers must step up and volunteer their time to make it work, from local fur and trappers councils working within their communities to zone directors and assistant directors working at the regional level.
Also the provincial trapping organizations need to take control of the licencing and inputting of harvest information,as well as delivering the trappers education courses necessary to ensure professionalism in the ranks by way of contracting with government to do these things in a more efficient and fiscally responsible manner than government can do it or has done it in the past.
