Was just in contact with him only a couple weeks ago trying to help him move a few things out so his family wouldn't be burdened. His last email said his health had really taken a turn and he couldn't do any more until I heard from him. Sadly I never did. Had done many transactions with Jim and he was always a staple at the WTA in Marshfield and Bob Whites swap in Adams, Wi. As many have said we have lost a man with great knowledge but also a great human being!! I know in one of our last conversations he fought the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) cancer till the end! RIP Jim you will be sorely missed!!!

Well crap. I guess in the next few days I will think of him as I forge my grandson a deer dressing knife to use on his first deer this fall. I bought the straight-peen hammer from Jim and his daughter a few years back. RIP Jim.

Sad to see another wealth of knowledge lost for us all. Thankfully he passed on his passion and love to many others thru his tutelage and open sharing of his lifelong passion. He will be missed by all here.

I just started spending time visiting with Jim about 5 years ago. I wish I had got to know him sooner. The wealth of knowledge he shared with me is incredible. He was a true friend and will be missed.

I can honestly say Jim was a real Peach of a man, proud to say he was a friend, bought many traps from him over the years, I asked Jim if I had every model Newhouse made from zero to 41/2, said I did and had them on display at our North Dakota Fur Takers Rendezvous, last weekend, Thanks Jim, and RIP
