Good luck. I've hunted OTC archery in unit 14 a few times. North of Steamboat.

I had heard they were issuing a lot fewer non-resident licenses due to the loss of elk from a very harsh winter.

Good luck not a easy hunt have done it about six times so far I believe there are less otc units this year than past years

They are. I had an email about it a while back.

I spoke to CPW, it sounded like the area we are headed wasn’t affected as much as the units further north. I’ve only ever hunted elk in Idaho. Kill or not, we will make the best of it. Can’t beat camping in the mountains!

I have a couple buddies who left SE Nebr this morning. I want to go to my usual spot in Colo the week after muzzeloader closes with my bow... but weak legs and high $ OTC permit might keep me in Nebraska !! We'll see !

I'll never go back to Colorado unless I want to kill a black bear which took me all of 20 minutes opening day.

I put in for an elk tag north of meeker in a trophy zone for 3 years. And Finally got drawn and you couldn't find an elk. I can buy a bull elk in bradleyville mo for $800 dollars and they'll make your hunting experience real.

I'm going to have them kick one out in the road ditch about 1 am when I'm leaving the bar.. I'd like to keep the hunt traditional with a 25000 candle power Q beam and a Marlin 22 mag

I was just actually looking for the cost of otc nonresident elk and could only find draw fee cost.

I want to say someone told me it was pushing the $800 mark. I will buy mine when I am out there. CPW claimed it was still “unlimited” and they would still be available tomorrow when I spoke to their office.

It’s the “either sex” OTC archery tag.

That's what I read but that was under the "application fee". Which is normally for draw tags.

I am entertaining the possibility of a hunt next September in unit 62 on the Uncomgahgre plateau. I have only rifle hunted it in the past, and the last time was back in '98 when I took the All purpose Boy out there. He got a bull and I never fired a shot. Anyone hunt that area with a bow?

NR elk is $760.99 OTC
Not all areas are OTC for Archery and some are bull or cow not either sex.
There is also your habit stamp fee, and small game license if you want to hunt grouse rabbits etc.
