I have been back and forth to napa a bunch this week

good guys at the store but they won't tell you there is 20% off online and whatever part is on the shelf is the one they shoot you the price for.
good that you can have it right now , but half the time they only have most of what you need and it can be there at 11:30 , 15:30 or by 08:00 tomorrow

what started as a groan when turning slow I started checking out , ended up being an upper ball joint passenger and noticed a inner tie rod end driver with a torn boot.

by the time I got done I had replaced upper control arms on both sides and inner and outer tie rods and adjusters on both sides because I was finding compromised boots or adjusters that just wouldn't budge.

no point doing a bunch of work to save money if they can't do the alignment when I take it in
this was the wife's expedition
yesterday my truck started making noise from the right rear , looked at it this morning , I need brakes
I had other stuff to do today so I got to looking at parts tonight

realized I there has been a 20% off sale going code SUMMER20

could have saved about 90 dollars maybe a little more doing the order online and picking it up at the store

so I ordered the pads , rotors and calipers got the GMC 1500

Most places will honor a sale price. You should ask them if they’ll do that.

Nothing against Napa a lot of other auto parts stores same way also but I ordered a set of felpro valve gaskets from Napa, had them there next day for 80 bucks. I messed up one of the gaskets putting it on and had to buy another set and found a set on Amazon for 45 bucks. Same exact valve covers from same company and even same part number. Yesterday auto zone was the only store around me that had a fuel pressure regulator I needed for 67 bucks, same exact part on Amazon was 40 bucks but I paid the extra cause I wanted it that day.

i have gotten some stuff from amazon , if it ends up Sunday deliver I won't get it till Tuesday because the Sunday usps truck will drive right past my house

I have gotten some stuff from them , with the 20% the napa parts weren't much more than the amazon and napa will have them when they open tuesday

I try and shop rock , amazon , oriely and Napa online when I remember

rock you have to worry about shipping how many warehouses it will come from and if you do have to return , a hassle to ship back

check them all and decide

I don't shop Napa anymore, they screwed me last time I was working on my truck's wheel bearings. Their online inventory tracking is garbage and unreliable.

Ordered something online that said it would be at the store later that day (Friday), so I stopped after work (after the time it said it would be there) and the guy at the counter said it wasn't there. He told me it would be on the truck first thing and should be there when they open at 8:30 (Saturday). Called Saturday morning after they opened and they told me it would be there Tuesday. I told him to cancel the order and refund me, I could get it from one of the other major retailers that day.

He even told me not to trust the online inventory system. I ised to work in the parts dept at a dealership, so I know how hard it is to get parts sometimes, but if their system is so messed up that it says it will be there Friday afternoon and it actually shows up Tuesday, maybe, I don't trust em.

Shop around online and you can usually find one of the major retailers with a discount code for 15-25% off and free shipping right to your door. I needed front brake rotors for my truck, ordered them through O'Reilly and they were 20% off and shipped to my door for free in 2 days, a better deal than if I drove to the store and got the ones off the shelf. And no, they wouldn't match the discount if I picked them up myself. It was somehow cheaper for them to ship me 80 pounds worth of product and packaging than to just grab them off the shelf.

I got around to doing the brakes Friday , and found that if you have a single piston caliper you have a different thickness rotor. than and if you have a dual piston caliper ,the rotor is about 1/2 inch thicker larger vents

took the parts to my local napa (also where I picked them up from) and they are still able to exchange them just like you went in to the store to order them

price was the same so it didn't cost me any more to exchange my rotors and pads

so save the 20% and still get the good service
