my brother was in an early study for tagament treatment of plantars warts , we both had them when we were kids
he is 6 years younger

I had 19 frozen off in high school and managed to not have them come back

he took Tagamet acid reducer for 6 months

mine were very painful if only for a short time of removal , he had no pain at all

Only ever had one. Thought it was taken care of a few times, kept coming back, hurt like nothing else to walk on, so I took a .22 and shot through the top of my foot blowing the core out the bottom. The bullet wound healed much faster than that wart ever was going to. Well ok, I went to the doc and had it frozen out (after two tries) but the .22 was the second option.

HPV or human papilloma virus are hard to get rid of because the immune system doesn’t recognize them. All warts are HPV. Planters warts are especially hard to get rid of. The main way we use to rid ourselves of warts is to cause irritation of the skin and tissue and try to trigger an immune response. This is what freezing, acid treatments, and duct tape do. Being on the foot I’d recommend going to a dermatologist and getting an acid treatment or two. Remember all warts are a form of HPV and as such they are all very easily transmitted to another human.

Dermatologist would be my first option, but I’ve heard good things about the duck tape trick.

I had a podiatrist cut mine out in my 20s, several times. Treatment with a very strong nitric compound in the wound finally finished it.

You will probably out grow the problem. Seems to occur early in life. Not fun. Get aggressive. Think it is viral.
