So don't know if y'all have seen it but there's a video going around if this guy fining this Homless dude just chilling in his backyard sitting in his swing eathing a bag of chips and just being happy really. I mean honestly I find it halarious compared to 80% of the Homless people I have around y area I really really wouldn't mind some dude like this. Anyhow the guy I had the deer hunting conversation with can storming up to me with the video playing on tik tock and he's red in the face and going "LOOK AT THIS BS ! " and I watch it again and start laughing because again, I found it pretty funny and light hearted . Yet again apparently I gave the wrong response because he's looking at me like something is wrong with me. Says " You think this is funny ?! TRESSPASSING ?!" I shrugged and just said it's not like the guys hurting anything,he's not being violent or just sitting there hitting a crack pipe. Said yeah I'd be a little miffed but egh would definitely have my gun on me in case ( I always do while home) but really it's just not that big of deal. Said it actually wasn't uncommon to have guys like that back in the day. Heck peoel would leave food out and stuff for them just being nice ( look up the leather man if you curious about guys like this we had a few around here when I was a kid) .
He proceeded to just start talking about how he'd shoot the guy in site no questions asked " HES TRESSPASSING AND IMMA USE THAT CASTLE LAW !!
And all I could really do was just say " you'd kill a guy...shoot on site no questions asked......for sitting in you backyard...and eathing a bag of chips ?" Conversation goes on for about 5 more minutes with him basically saying he's trespassing and yeah he's gonna shoot the guy no questions asked and I just keep reiterate " over sitting in you back yard and eathing chips" finally just asked if he was ok because I just can't fathom killing someone for something so friggen stupid especially if they pose no immediate threat and bad that looks on the rest of us.
Then tried saying I should understand because I was in the army and I was triend to be a killer ( I had a good laugh at that ) and told him there's a thing called escalation of force. Started talking about how it was pure disrespect to trespassing like that he feels it gave him the right and I just cut him off saying if feeling disrespected will make you shoot a man dead just for sitting and eating some chips he needs some serious therapy or something Proceeded to call me a liberal something another and walk off. Shrugged and went back to my phone game.
Boy getting happy I'm moving boats cuz this joker and me are just not two peas in a pod lol. Not gonna lie he really reminds me of a few guys we had in the infantry units who did there best to be redneck stereotypes..and not in the fun way noble way

Not everyone has had the experiences you’ve had Wolfdog91. I don’t allow trespassers and would not hesitate to use violence if one refuses to leave.
I’m curious if you leave your house or vehicle unlocked? After all, it’s just trespassing if they decide to come in. Some have had bad experiences with “trespassers” but apparently it’s common where you’re from. Most folks have no clue what they’ll do in a situation, but I’m not going to let it play out to see if I come out on the short end of the stick.

I'm talking about the one I described .You look out your door and there's a homeless dude haut sitting in your chair in your backyard watching some chips.... you just gonna BANG shoot the guy ? Like without tying to figure anything out , see who he is what he's doing just first thing you do is blast the guy ? Really ?
It's not like. You walked din and he's creeping around your house or ransacking your garage.

It's like that guy who shot a girl who used his drive way as a turn around. Stuff like that just plain isn't acceptable

As far as the video I’d laugh at the video but if it happens on my property and the guy was calm and not trying to attack me I’d call the sheriff and have them remove him because they may keep him calmer then I might, but if he was violent then shoot first.

If I killed every trespasser here in the winter, I would run out of ammo and places to hide the bodies.

When I was a kid , in the 50's and 60's , our neighbors , didn't care if we hunted or past through their property.
We could hunt all day and never worry about property lines.
Then dairy farms and many small farms went bankrupt , because of FARMERS HOME ADMINISTRATION , remember that outfit of the government?
They encouraged loans ( knowing full well you couldn't afford it ) and took over almost all the small farms , by default !
That was the beginning of the loss of simple freedoms.
Now here we are talking about shooting someone for trespassing .
SMH Things sure have gone down hill in the last 60 years.
Funny thing is that the people that bought small sections of those farms , felt they owned all the land that bordered their property .
Yet you couldn't go on their property.
Seen it many times that these people would come off a neighbors property , and try to kick you off your own property.
It's all in the schools that teach their propaganda and program the students that , if you think you're right you're right.

Woilfdog91, a guy in my locked privacy fenced back yard is not exactly getting a free pass…shoot on sight? No…but he will be confronted at gun point. The rest of his life is up to him. Again, I took what you described and related it to my situation, so scaling a privacy fence that’s locked doesn’t exactly send “I’m just chilling vibes”

Again, where you grew up it was common place, where I grew up it had you convincing people they made wrong life choices. Nothing “red neck” about it. Self preservation comes before stupidity of other people.

Someone in my back yard will be aproche by me if I'm home and henis noticed first. And will have several guns on him from the house and my boys don't miss. Now if I'm not home or even if I am most likely Someone will have opened the door before looking and the germand shepherd will be out first and the individual will be highly motivated to leave while we are trying to figure out what she took off after barking at.

No fence no neighbors closer than 100 yards and 0ne is a friend the other is my dad. You have to love having a big dogs.
