Has anyone ever used corn cobs for visual bait for beavers?

I've used it in under ice sets, in place of aspen. It works.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I’ve heard of guys using hard field corn. I never tried it. Would get too many non targets….waterfowl, coon, muskrat etc.

Stick with poplar...nothing else will bother it.

I use my Dunkin Donuts Coffee lid ..as eye candy. Just pin it down with a dead stick.

Used to use corn in under ice sets in southern MN where they commonly fed on field corn. Have thought about trying it up North where they seldom see it, but have never got around to it.

Anything white....or sorta white will work. Do it right, and they get thumped before they get fooled.

I have used it here in drainage ditches for nuisance beaver behind a castor mound set. They feed on corn all summer and use the stalks for dam building.

It will work most times, but you might also find that muskrats carry them off. Never caught a rat but see tracks in the mud.
