Beaver dens under large trees. I don't think It's a food source per say. But those trees and their root system form a good strong bank where a beaver can dig It's den.

When the colonies are gone, up and down the rivers here when the dens finally open up on top of the bank, you can trace the tunnels right under the biggest trees. Or in low water periods you can just look into the entrances from below. Same thing for the bank river muskrats.
