Anxiety. What is it about it that keeps people from getting on with life and living?

We must be on the same wave length today. I was thinking about this tonight along the lines of what's with the depression, hate, and constant worry to the point of shutting folks down. It's something I don't understand but suspect has to do something with the nonstop news and events and being glued to a screen..

But like everything else I very well could be wrong on the cause but it seems like a very sharp increase in folks with problems, or I could just now be starting to notice?

Constant bombardment of negativity and some people can’t find good in anything. I see this on a daily basis

Lots of different reasons imo.

One guy it might be his work. Next guy it might be his finances, and next it could be politics.

When you have control over your situation how do you succumb to mere negativity?

Good points. I think everyone has things in their life that cause plenty of stress and anxiety but not everyone was born with the needed tools (or learned how to deal with these things.)

I lost a couple good friends to suicide and addiction. I try to never get too mushy but those kinda stories are heart breaking to put it mildly.

Agree had a close cousin take his life in 2016 , I was bitter at what he did to family but in the end life is for the living and if that bought him peace then so be it . That’s how I coped .

A lot of people are fragile, doesn't take a lot to shut them down...

Quick story, My wife had a cousin in the towers, after the 1st plane hit people started walking down the stairs to evacuate, when the second hit and stuff got real, way too many people just gave up and sat where they were. The cousin was screaming at the folks to move and literally had to step, and climb over them to get out.

Some people can handle adversity and are survivors, others can't and are statistics.

Everyone is wired different.
Some high strung, some too laid back.

Speed of life these days just exacerbates things for those so inclined.

I think people need a meaningful occupation that they enjoy and want to do. I am a nonpaid caretaker of a hunting club, I enjoy it and have a 3,000 acre play ground with a batch of ponds 400 acres of fields and lots of their toys to play with. I look forward to going to "work" and then I trap too-that is getting to be work......jk

We all have demons inside of us. It how we let them out and deal with them. For some its alcohol or drugs others we just deal with them day by day. Try not think of negative things. Think on the positive side.

It seems like half the guys I worked with were on medication for anxiety. I was surprised by some of the guys who were, guys I would have never drempt would need medication to face life. I began to wonder if I was missing out.

everything in advertising , news , current culture is telling people

your small
your a victim
your not strong
your not capable
you don't have the power
your not a professional xyz
you could hurt yourself
you could hurt others
you could brake it
your an idiot , your husband is an idiot
stay out of the way of the professionals

use us we professionals can do it right

the news , TV , media , government all 24/7 fear marketing

all selling an answer at a price if they even mention the answer most of the time it is just to drum up fear.

we need to change this kind of thinking.
the reason those of you and myself included don't get it, don't see why everyone needs to be a victim , is we are not good marketing subjects.
our brain isn't wired to take that input or we see it all as lies and the marketing it is.

Animals have depression so maybe its not all news on the tv and internet. We all have wiring and its different. Just one chemical either not enough or too much can throw everything off. If its that you may need to see a Doctor.

If you think its behavior then you might read up and practice the three C's of cognitive behavior.

!. Catch

2. Check

3. Change

If you catch yourself doing things in a pattern that you think might be a cause of the problem, stop and check yourself if this is a real concern. If so change your behavior which might be as simple as using a positive spin instead of a negative one.

We can't change overnight but it might be possible over the long haul.

an excellent fear marketing example

these bottles contain the exact same product you can read all the % they even say they treat the same mites
one has a picture of chickens and veg.

for a 1.50 more you can have the exact same product with a picture of chickens and veg to make you feel better about not using the wrong stuff
