PBS said the lawyers for hunter biden are going to argue that it's unconstitutional for drug abusers to lose their Second Amendment Rights.

Of course they are and they are right. Already ruled on this year. So it's a win win. DOJ for prosecuting a president's son and the president's son walks.

Matter of fact it was one of reasons the original plea deal went south. DOJ wanted to charge the gun crime for tough on gun PR. Hunter's lawyers threatened that they would fight it on 2A grounds and win a precedent setting case and DOJ would lose that charge forever going forward. So the original deal had no gun charge which along with other things prompted the judge to dig deeper into it.

Another dope gun case beat them to the punch on the precedent though and now a gun charge in his case is basically moot.

Maybe a right will finally be a right. Dangerous felons stay in jail instead of relying on "its illegal so they wont be armed if they are released".

Your raise and interesting point. The lying on federal forms thing. Highly doubt that DOJ will go that route for similar reasons. One could argue that 1A guarantees a right to lie or 5A covers it.
