I bought one of those for the boys turkey gun a 20g franchi affinity 3 compact. Wasted a bunch of money in ammo trying to sight it in. Finally my youngest noticed the mount on that optic broke. You can see the single bolt holdes the mount on. The bolt is pressed into a nut and splined and it came apart there . I paid 125 for it the shop took it back and gave me a refund. Definitely put crimson trace on my do not buy list.

So far the sig Romeo has had zero problems

I’ve always shied away from anything marked down that much, lol. There’s generally a reason “if” it’s a true mark down.
I’ve had a Burris FastFire III on my turkey gun for 8-9 years now and have not had an issue yet. And this is not a babied gun. It’s been from one end of the country to the other and still works and holds the same zero it did when I first put it on. Heck, the sight was probably more expensive than the gun when I bought it, lol. I’d have to be really pressed for money to ever go with anything different as far as a red dot is concerned.
I’m sorta curious how it will perform on the 458…

Its in a AR platform and is my brush gun as its light to carry and quick handling. I had a cheap red dot on it but that did not hold up to the recoil and the red dot kinda fell out of it. So I figure with this one having way less mass than the other one, its worth a try. Its not the kind of tool that one takes to the range to run a 100 rounds through in an afternoon. Its just a meat getter, so does not see a lot of use

I have no experience with this dot

the Sig Romeo 5 is a nice budget dot for long guns
it has a wakeup when moved so you can leave your gun in the rack and when you pick it up it turns on to the last setting

I also have a Vortex
Venom , crossfire red dot ,Spark II

the crossfire you have to turn off on your own it is a dial you can leave it in between 2 numbers on the dial and it stays off so you don't have to dial it all the way around as it has 5 low light settings and 5 daylight settings

the spark and Venom have 12-14 hour auto shutoff button up and down

the nice part about vortex is you buy it once and they warrantee it if it does break I have only sent one back and it was an electronic issue it was a prism so I still could use it when the illumination wouldn't come on.

the tube style dots are closed emitter also so that you don't get junk on the emitter blocking your dot , better for ugly weather and mud and such easy to do flip down caps on some of the tubes
the open emitter type it is a rubber boot cover over the whole unit

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
