So I am looking for a dogless trap to target coyote/fox/bobcat.

Would like 2 coil offset that wouldn't hold deer (landowners don't want deer caught or neighbors dogs hurt).

I don't want to mess with a lot of modifications.
Also want something that is available in current production/purchase online.

Any suggestions?

I agree with Yes Sir, both are good traps and meet your criteria.

Wolf Creek #2

Only adjustment needed is to file the notch to your preferred pound setting and go. But this is common to the Montgomery dogless system. Once set nothing to ever go out of adjustment.

Not needed unless live market but the jaw faces are a little rough, a moment with a file or sander takes care of that.

I have 4 dozen Alpha’s and love them. I was switching over to all No BS traps this year in order to have everything be the same, but I couldn’t get away from the Alpha’s…. I have the #3’s and they are easy to set and seem like a well built trap.

Love my Alpha #3s. I bought some used bridger #2 dogless and wish I would have just bought more Alpha. I bought some No BS traps and sent them back and exchanged them for Alphas. Both are good and the No BS are built like a tank but I just like the Alphas more. I like to add a 1 1/2 size 4 coil springs to give them just a little extra zing but it’s not necessary.

Bridger two offset fully modified in dogless model is a great choice. Many of mine I have removed the extra springs to make them two coiled. They hold coyotes just fine. Over time if the main springs get weak they can be easily replaced, or you simply put the original extra springs you took off and make them back to 4 coiled.
It’s is a great coyote and cat trap, and I’ve never had a problem with non-target issues you describe.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I will get a half dozen alpha #2 and see how I like them.

I have a few fully modified dogless Bridger #2s and they're a great trap. They just require a little more tinkering than I like to get the pan level.

I use the Alpha traps for years. They seem to be one of the best for my trapping. Why would you be leaning away from the Alpha's countrycletus? I've used them for years with no problems, maybe you need to reconsider the way you are setting them?? Just a thought.
