I had to share this just cause it’s too cool. Turns out my wife works with the daughter of Don Bolen and when she heard my wife and I tan furs and trap, she brought in 2 original Bolen knives that he used and the fur fish and game from 1968 that he had an article in and gave them to my wife as a gift. That was absolutely the coolest and most generous gift we have received considering he was the inventor of the Bolen beaver knife and she could have kept these for sentimental uses, but instead re-homed them to us where they will be cherished and passed down in our family.

Interesting. Nice gift for sure. I thought Bolen was the term for a specific style of blade (the little triangle shaped ones.) I never thought about it being someone's name.
