Nowadays workers dictate what they want for pay.
They dont ask what the person hiring them wants to pay them.
This has come about after covid when companies couldnt get anyone to work for what they offered.

You can train monkeys to do what the auto do on the line! It's not a skill trade.

I think the big 3 auto companies won't exist in another 10 years. OR.....they will be begging for another bailout.

They need to shut down their plants and move to Mexico or to right to work states.

Between the unions and the federal EV mandates, the big 3 are doomed. Tesla and Toyota and maybe Rivian will be the winners still standing.

I hope you're right. I own stock in Tesla and Rivian. Sold my Ford stock a few years back. This is a wierd time in history. Government manipulation has made it nearly impossible to pick investment options based on common sense potential. IMO, unions and government intrusion, need to go the way of the Dodo bird.

Not that they don’t have operations both north and south of border in addition to overseas. But it always comes back to the auto industry culture. Other companies look for complete reorgs. The closest auto companies every got was Saturn. It’s the same as to why they don’t force a strike and replace. It’s not that they can’t find and train semi skilled labor workers as there are plenty of other facilities where exactly that has happened. Instead the industry itself is something along the lines of lazy and incompetent. And that’s what happens when the top leadership on both sides puts on a good show for the country to watch as in the end when they screw up again they know it’s just a matter if asking feds to help since “they are just too big and important to fail”

Priority #1 for the UAW is increasing membership, then dues check off. A union can not survive if members have to write a check for their dues. This is non-negotiable and they will trade away any benefit to keep the check off and membership requirement.

Well then here it is. With all the social welfare available to anyone who claims to have an illness, mental or physical, unemployment bailouts, along with a lax disability plan, it’s not surprising we are where we are. All right on track with the communist agenda of the liberals. If we pay people to not work, the lazy pos’s among us will certainly take advantage of it.
