if it is high and consistent , taller front sight
you went taller front but you also went a little taller back at the same time adding a peep
I love a good peep
even Skinner says right on their page there is no standard front sight height you go high and trim it down with a file then use the blue they sell to darken it so it doesn't shine
http://skinnersights.com/front_sights_5.htmlit is best if you can bring a vice with a padded jaw to the range shoot a group , take some file cuts measure how far you took with a caliper , then shoot a group
do this with the rear sight about in the middle so you can adjust a little later.
cut that front sight till your group is right at 25 yards that generally is about right with a 30-30 and irons should put you about an inch high at 50, 75 and and zero again at 100
if I am shooting a 1 inch square with irons at 25 yards I want to hold the bottom edge of the square to the top edge of my front sight and land them in the square
that should put you looking very good to about 125-150yard which takes care of most shots on game
I like it just a little high so that I am looking at the impact spot say you want to smoke a squirrel (with appropriate license) that has chattered at you all day , set it's head on the post and smoke away at 25 yards.
fine tune however you like , just where I would try and be
for targets try a 1 inch square at 25 , 2 at 50 and 4 and 75 you might want to go 8 at 100 then you hold the middle if you find that too small 2,4,6,8 or 10 at 100yards
