While sighting in my bow and practicing I shotup my good 400 grain arrows and my 500 grain arrows are now too short for my draw length.

Is a 250 Grain arrow weighing 350 grains in total good for whitetail?

The reason I have a variety is because my uncle gave me his old bow and it came with a number of arrows.

First, makes sure the bow fits.
Second, verify what poundage you’re pulling and actual draw length (see #1) and get arrows specifically for that weight and length.
Third, don’t play around with arrows that aren’t for #1&2!

Playing around as a teenager we found some old wooden arrows and thought we’d see how far we could launch them out in this field. I pulled back and released and the arrow snapped and somehow just missed me ever having children one day. It also cracked a limb on my bow. That’s was a whole bunch of yards to mow to get that fixed!!!

^^this. Every different weight of arrow will hit a different spot. Buy a dozen identical arrows and same weight tips and know your draw length. Don't shoot wooden arrows from a compound bow.

This is gospel. You have to be consistent with every aspect in archery. The same length arrows need to be cut the same etc. the same anchor pint and so on. Everything needs to be consistent all the time.

1) Know draw weight.
2) Know draw length.
3) Choose an arrow length based on wt and lgth and add arrow length so at least 1 inch is in front of your arrow rest.
4) 6 grains of arrow wt per pound of draw wt is a general guide....include your broadhead.
5) If all this is confusing...go to an archery pro shop. They'll help you.

As Gary Benson says...no wooden arrows in a compound.

As Snowy says...all your gear MUST BE CONSISTENT....for consistent accuracy.

Take your old bow to the archery shop. Have them go check to be sure it fits your draw length. If it fits you, have them do a tune up, and check the string. They will instruct you on what arrows to use. Throw that mismatched bunch of arrows out. Each time you change arrow weight you will need to sight in the bow again. Then buy field points that are the same weight as the broad heads you intend to use. This will help you keep consistent when shooting your bow.

Yes that will be fine for hunting. My arrows are 9 grains per inch
And use a 100 grain point. Bringing me to around 340 for total weight.
Why kind of bow did you get from your uncle?

If you have not decided to follow the above advice yet, just google arrow through hand to get an idea of what happens when a carbon fiber arrow explodes on release wink

I shot wooden arrows out of my compound for years, no issues just get the right spine.
350 gr is a bit light for hunting but should work.
